Is what I'm looking at for my new machine. In the near future the motherboard, and CPU will be switched out to something new likely something from AMD's new line up at which, and those will be moved to a media center. What you guys think?

A samsung spinpoint f3 is better than the seagate for cheaper even

Also you can get a 6870 for cheaper, and it's better than a 6790

If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One... now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds.

Oops forgot I had changed it was looking at this http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...2%28ME%29.aspx or maybe http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...0%28ME%29.aspx Just forgot to update the system builder I from the site I'll be buying from. Hard drive seeing if I can squeeze an SSD into this or if it will have to wait either way I figure I'll have one of those for OS and game installs. So drive performance on the big one wasn't a worry.

I'm not sure what you're going for with this build.

The CPU is outdated, especially considering Bulldozer is just around the corner (6-8 weeks) and Intel's CPUs are currently significantly better than anything AMD has to offer when it comes to gaming.

The GPU you selected is horribly underpowered as well and barely suitable for gaming.

Imo, wait another 2 months and get a Bulldozer CPU instead. If you really want a HTPC CPU then roll with an AMD "Llano" APU. It's ideal for such systems.

Right now I'm looking to build something that will replace my failing Inspiron 1520 laptop. Damn thing is falling apart both in the case, and internals. I have the money now thanks to over time, so figure these parts which are all been recommended here and other places for a build in my budget was good, then when my Christmas bonus comes in I can update to Bulldozer, but waiting is out of the question as this laptop is gonna fail completely soon it looks like. Then for GPU as I said I decided against that for at least a 6850 maybe a 6870.
