DK PvP DW or 2h (Frost)

hey guys,

just wanting to know what is better in battlegrounds and arena, if it's DW or 2h (frost) what one is better, currently speced 2h frost going to buy my pvp weapons soon just wanting to know if i should swap to DW spec and get 2 1h or stick with 2h frost...

This is like asking whether Haste or Mastery is better for a Holy Priest. Both sides have arguments as to why their preferences is better.

In my opinion, and from what I have gathered from respected (and not-so-respected) players, is that 2H Frost is better for double melee cleave teams where you want to lay down Necrotic Strike stacks and be able to "hard swap" without ramp up. This is only viable for 3v3, whereas DW Frost has a lot more damage and alters your "rotation" (less NSing, more HB/Oblit).

A lot of players just go 2H Frost because they also play 2H Unholy. I like to think of it was 2H Frost for 3v3, and DW Frost for RBG and 5v5.

Unholy is overall better for arena and RBG's unless you're playing an extremly burst heavy cleave.

I heard that the choice between weapons for frost was personal preferance though.

...but Ultima said it better than I did, and sounded like he knows more.

Some big DK player I've not heard of (not hard though) is releasing data and a video on why DW Frost is better. Still waiting for it though.

I didn't mention Unholy as an option because he didn't ask about that spec.

i was dw frost at the start off cata but then changed too 2 hander since well big mace hurts more then small mace =O

That logic is not valid as the 1H weapons are bigger than the 2H weapons!
