4.3 AQ remake?

*SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER* Ragnaros dies in heroic mode. Not in normal mode. When you fight him in heroic mode, during the heroic only 4th phase, Cenarius, Malfurion, and the tauren guy come in and bound him from going back into the lava. So what does he do? He steps out of it. Yes. He walks. And once you KILL him, you kill him. He is gone. Until patch 7.2 when someone rezzes him =p jk.

The fact would be that they did indeed opt to rehash and recycle older content, in favor of actually produce new content.

There-in lies the majority of the problem.

ZA is a rehash, ZG is completely different except from environment, so only partly a re-hash. Firelands on the other hand is COMPLETELY different. We already knew elementals could only be killed in their own plane. All the bosses, trash, and environment is different. Would it be better if we called Ragnaros something else? Would that make you feel better?


OT: I wouldn't mind an AQ remake, though they better really incorperate it into the current storyline and make it really different.

Kara on the other hand shouldn't come back, it's done and over with. The only reason they would bring it back is as as the mirror beneath Kara, the exact replica of Kara, except it goes into the earth and is a lot darker. And then only if they would be bringing Medivh back. (God I hope they do, Medivh is awesome, and probably one of the few people that could truly defeat the Old Gods or Sargeras.)

i personally would love it. i didnt start raiding until mid TBC so i never expierienced vanilla raids when they were current content.

Blizz seems to be recycling alot of old stuff lately. i think AQ is a direction they are at least thinking about.

I will quite literally deactivate my account permanently if 4.3 doesn't contain entirely new content. The only thing more embarrassing than wasting time playing this game for 7 years is wasting time playing content I already cleared 5 years ago.

Who really cares if bosses have the same name as they did x amount of years ago? The encounters aren't exactly the same, it is basically a new instance with new fights, with an end boss with the same name, stop complaining, you're being dumb.

Same looking instance with same looking bosses and normally a dumb hollow story for why you are fighting them again. Now they do shadow patches on the floor instead of fire patches! Whoopy dooo for new mechanics.

If boss mechanics are the main thing for good instances then TOC would have been a good raid... There was nothing wrong with the TOC bosses but the boring 1 room made it terrible.

And this is why we cannot have nice things as a community. You have a section of the playerbase that wants original content, and a section that tries to scream louder than the other - "WE NEED CONTENT NOW I DON'T CARE".

You've missed my point entirely. I'm talking about 4.3, and what it would mean if they chose to re-do AQ / Kara instead of actually add new content.

But while you're talking about Firelands and rehashes, should we talk about all of the deliberate reskinning there?

Blizzard said we will be getting a raid and at least one five man. What if the raid was WotA and the 5 mans where AQ? It would only be partially re-hashed. Anyways, WotA sounds it would be up to par with Ulduar, or beyond, in environment, lore, and especially bosses. Just read the WotA trilogy and you would know how epic it truly could be if Blizzard did a good job with it.

Way to completely downplay just how much has changed, along with the completely valid reasoning behind refighting them. You could argue Rise of the Zandalari wasn't their best story, but Nefarian? Ragnaros? Completely valid reasonings and a competent story.

To all those ppl who feel the need to QQ about "reused" content, you do realize 90% of the current content in game is a "reuse" right?

There are what, 500 or more quests in the game that have you killing x amt of enemies, isn't that a reuse of the very first quest that ever told you to kill x amt of enemies? Because a place comes back, you QQ like mad men(little boys for most of the ppl I assume).

Here are some facts:
Quests: always a redo of some other quest(why don't you quit over that?)
Raids: Most raids have reused content in some form. Whether it be enemies, a mechanic, etc...
ZA: Yeah, I'm not a fan of the redo...but I'm not going to quit a game I've invested years into over that.
ZG: NOT a redo, it was a remake. Location was the same(whoopty do, you gonna quit too b/c we have stormwind in every expansion?), but the enemies and story were all new(and the enemies brought back at least had a fresh story to them).

Everything in wow is a redo of something that was in wow before, so plz stfu with your mindless QQ.

For everyone who wants Karazhan back as a raid, do you even remember how mind numbingly boring it was and how it'd drive us crazy now? Just a couple things to throw out there about Kara that would drive me crazy really quick:

1. Malchezzar's RNG makes Rhyolith's volcanos look like clockwork. The most frustrating but easy boss in the history of the game.
2. Standing in/rotating out of beams has already been done this xpac and is now passe.
3. Another council fight? HOORAY! Just what I wanted.
4. Trash packs upon trash packs. Shannox would be envious of the amount of trash.
5. Chess event sucked.

With all that said, Opera events are still awesome (except maybe Romeo and Juliet), the Curator still has some of my favorite boss quotes ever, I may finally get the effing tentacle porn/stranglestaff off Illhoof, and Nielas effing Aran.

The Old Gods own Deathwing, we will probably kill Deathwing before we even truly mess with the Old Gods. C'thun and Yogg-saron aren't even dead yet anyways, so we haven't truly defeated them, only pushed them back.
