Why would they ever do that? rougly 55-60% of your "avoidance" is block, passively I doubt any tank class is going above 50% (combined dodge+parry) true avoidance.

i dont think that they will implement epic gems in a 4.3.x hot-/bugfix patch

Epic gems aren't going to happen. They would have happened in 4.2 if they were going to do them. They're not waiting for the last raid patch of the xpac to introduce them, and they certainly wouldn't introduce them after 4.3.

It's a waste of time for them to have to re-balance every profession and its bonus to match the change to JC's bonus if epic gems are introduced. It's easier for them to just leave things the way they are. Dump your tokens, dump that pyrite as fast as you can.

Because they can't tune bosses around "unhittable" (= can only receive blocked attack) tanks. Or maybe they can if they give DKs the ability to use their "imba" self healing even AFTER they first get 2-shotted to the ground by the boss (I even have a name for the talent: "Just A Flesh Wound!").

I highly doubt that you can use current jc tokens for epic gem stuff. Mountains of JC's have 50+ tokens. Just does not seem like they would be "epic" if you can just hand out the recipes.

You must have trouble reading...He means stocking up on Pyrium Ore, then prospecting it after the "epic gems" are out as that is what many people did with titanium ore in WotLK when the epic gems were released.

They probably wont add epic gems.

BC had a 12 stamina normal and 15 stamina epic
Wotlk had a 24 stamina normal and 30 epic
Cata has a 60 stamina normal (75 stamina or 50 intellect for epic, if it comes)

My point being, they always boosted the gem's value by 100% per expansion, but the blue gems which we got right now is already at the value what the epic gem should've been. I think they just ditched the epic gem idea.

Which is generally what we get from gear, and 99-100% avoidance tanks already exist. All im saying is that i dont feel a "need" yet for an extra handful of stats. That being said 4.3 content had yet to be shown and for all I know i may NEEEED that extra chunk of int/mastery/agil etc

Sorry but 100% avoidance tank do not exist .... and never have though there has been some close. What your meaning is avoidance + block = 100% and block is mitigation not avoidance.

Myself looking forward to when they do add epic gems tho there costs will be interesting to see.

We will be lucky if we ever see 4.4 they have announced 4.3 is the lasted before the next expansion also i pray for epic gems!!

I don't think they will add epic gems in cata.. why ? No idea.. it's just a feeling.

But if they add them, i think they will be dropped.. rare drop from raid bosses ? Already cutted BoP epic gems maybe...? What make me think that ? No idea.. it's just a feeling.

I remember seeing many threads on this before and someone did math showing that with how Blizzard has been scaling things epic gems wouldn't arrive until 4.4, and that's assuming we are even going to get epic gems this xpac. I can say I guess it'd be nice to have them again, but all it does is bring JC's a great cash flow and inflates numbers.

Yeah, I remember people making some serious bank on epic gems back in Wrath. Didn't last long, but the money earned did. :P

They've been added in every expand that had JC so far. I don't know why people doubt that they'll be added this time around.

It will not happen.

Current reg content is puggable up to Ragnaros, and we will see more pugs starting to down him after another month or two of lockout resets. Therefore current content does not need a nerf. Epic gems are an indirect way for Blizzard to nerf current content. The only conclusion that follows is that Blizzard will not nerf current content by introducing epic gems.
