Which should I upgrade first, mouse or keyboard?

As the topic implies, I'm looking to purchase a new mouse or keyboard, and I'm curious to see what everyone's opinions are as far as which is more important to upgrade first. My current mouse and keyboard cost $20 total, so anything is an upgrade, but if I upgrade my keyboard I'm getting a mechanical keyboard (looking at the razer blackwidow) and if I upgrade my mouse I'm getting something with 2 extra side buttons (DeathAdder from Razer comes to mind). I mostly play WoW and FPS games, typing is mostly chatting in games and making forum posts, most of my school typing will be on my macbook (though if I get a mechanical keyboard and it's great to type on, I'll probably use it for school typing as well.)

So anyways, back to the question. In your opinion, is it better to have a nice mouse, or a nice keyboard?

Something like the Naga is really nice if you are going to upgrade your mouse. If you decide to migrate to RTS games its incredibly nice for CTRL groups and in wow you can use your number bad for extra keybinds or the normal number bar if you click to turn. I can't really talk about keyboards because I'm still using my generic keyboard that came with this computer. I really like the Naga though so in my biased opinion I say mouse

If the keyboard helps for school and the mouse doesn't, get the keyboard.

I'd lean towards the mouse. Keyboard influence overall is far smaller than mouse influence when it comes to quality and behavior.

Keep in mind however this also results in mice having something of a retraining period; increasing further the better you actually are with high speed high precision movements with your old mouse. Keyboards have low to no such retraining period at all.

Yeah they do , have you ever tried using a mechanical keyboard? TIK TOK CLACK CLICK entertains me while I write.

I think I am going to upgrade my mouse, both as a realization of how awful it is (it skips pixels on my screen when I move it because it's such low quality) and because I think that my rubber dome keyboard will serve me fine for at least a little while.

I'll be getting the Naga, btw, as I realize that it has a ridiculously high DPI as well as infinity-billion buttons. Thanks for the input guys!

Mouse, especially if you play FPS games.

After I got a mouse with two side buttons, internet browsing was never the same, and I will never go back. The death adder is also super nice.

Rather the DeathAdder than the Naga. I've only had the Naga of the two. Wouldn't if I had the chance to un-buy it.

im assuming you are talking about gaming here, and it is hands down mouse no matter how many times you run the question through.

many keyboards serve the purpose that people need, but there are more models of mouses that only have right click, left click and middle click buttons as opposed to those that have multiple buttons for that one extra ability or quality of life macros. I personally have my PTT bound to one of my mouse buttons and could not imagine binding it to anywhere on my keyboard.

the deathAdder is really nice if you dont need 11 extra buttons on your mouse. 2 side buttons might be on the low side, but the quality of the rebrand is great. And costs half of a Naga.
