Botters in Battlegrounds.

Just going to rant for a second here...Sorry if there are numerous threads on this already.

I find this highly annoying. Let me start by saying, I play on the Horde side. Rarely, but surely I'll see a familiar face doing the exact same thing after releasing (If releasing at all, some people just walk out of range of the spirit res right before it releases.) and i'll know it's someone using third party clients.

Like I said, I play on the Horde side in Stormstrike BG. I've seen this one particular bot on Alliance do the exact same thing every night for the past 4 days. By exact, I mean, he runs to GM; dismounts and casts Frostbolt. Mind you, he doesn't even self buff himself. Regardless of him being frost, he doesn't use any shields and he doesn't play defensively. He runs to the same spot every time and just stands there. If there is no one there for him to attack he'll try to cap. I know the difference between someone that's learning and someone that's not even someone.

I Reported him two days ago, and Blizzard said the necessary action will be taken blah blah blah. Sure enough, every night since then I've seen him in Arathi Basin. I went to his server and tried to whisper him, and he's away. I wanted to see if he would reply or something, but to my dismay he didn't. I find this highly unfair for the other team (I know it's an advantage for us, but still..)

I feel like, the rest of us work hard for our reputation/honor; and botting allows the person cheating to get everything we get while he isn't even at his computer.

I think Blizzard waits with collecting reports, later does a banwave and bans 10000 people at once. Highly annoying indeed, but you'll have to suffer through it. His Honor will get lost after he's banned, trust me.

while i was gearing up my rogue pretty much every bg i got into there was a human rogue, and he alwasy went to same spots in bgs and just stealthed, and every 3~ mins or so he attacked something then vanished and went back to spot so he couldnt be kicked. he had the best pvp gear at the time though so he must have been botting for 100k kills achiev or something. i reported him a few times and each time got "we will look into this".

I noted later that armory updates on all the bots I had records of reporting in march were gone anywhere from april to june, and of course many of them may have been reported earlier by others.

the downside is that said bots can ruin your bg's all the way to 85 with impunity.

I've been leveling a disc priest in PVP, and I've seen a few I wondered about. Just yesterday in AB, I killed the same warlock 12 (Yes, really!) times. He'd run to stables, not even mounted, taking the same path every time, and immediately start casting shadowbolt at me. Never used any dots or fear or anything. I even commented on it in /bg, that he was either very persistent or very stupid. Kinda wonder now if he was just a bot.

It's because farming PvP gear is mind numbingly boring compared to PvE gear. Blizzard did a good change by making it so that you can obtain all your gear through arena points, but there still needs to be a change about to BG's and honor gear.

Just report them afk and to tell other people to do it, and when 3 other people do it they are kicked, if they are kicked a certain amount of times in a certain period of time then they get a 24H ban and are looked into and watched.

They wait for enough collected information on players before they do a full ban wave instead of doing them one by one. Botters can really ruin a game like in WSG they run a diagonal through mid until someone attacks them or someone comes close enough for them to attack I mean I don't mind free kills but most of the time that person isn't worth stopping for and kinda makes it less fun..

If random bg's weren't bad enough dealing with clueless and just plain dumb players now you have bots all the time. Have enough of each and there's no way to win despite a few peoples best eforts. I had some rogue in ab come ride to mines, dismount and attack like 3 times doing the same thing. It was so funny because it was so obvious they were botting. Blizz really needs to find a way to discourage this and not just a slap on the wrist. It sucks for people who actually enjoy bg's having to pick up their slack.

To fix the problem it's usually best to look at the source. The honor grind is about a 100++ hour test of patience every major content patch. It's excessive, it's a slog and they will never rid themselves of bots until they remove the mindless chore of honor grinding.

There are better manners in which to carrot and add incentive to areas of the game than tacking on needless equipment treadmills to everything.

not true i have a guy in my guild that is boting all every night i made 2 tickets before 2 months gm said that he will check it thank you for reporting this bla bla bla bla bla he is still in game and boting

ive seena few dk bots lately that still have the dk starting gear at level 85, basically these guys level the entire toon botting bgs and then bot honor to get all the starter pvp gear.

and no honor grind is not 100+ hours, thats bullshit. u can get started with rated games using last season gear just fine, most ppl at higher ranks still have 365 pieces.
