No the OP said :
Now why would everyone assume he wants a true over the top rocket launching, $40,000 computer rig?I really don't know much about computers, but I want one which excels in both performance and graphic up-keeping.
He told everyone the price and anyone with half a brain would understand he wanted a gaming computer considering he is on a GAMING website. It would be different if he went onto blowuptheplanetwithmypc.com. But he didn't he came to a gaming site asking for a build. I bet you assume that grandparents that say they want a fast computer to talk to their grand kids obviously want a i7 with 3tb storage.
And the fact is he was trolling. No PC (reads PERSONAL computer) is going to cost 40,000 dollars unless you start putting platinum and diamonds on it, I mean seriously.
And again you are incorrect. There are levels of builders far above gamer. My machine, and Cyan's are both what you consider enthusiast builds. And, you know? There are people above that. No precious metals needed.

You are still missing the fact the man wanted a gaming computer, and 40,000 for a gaming computer would be asinine.

is more than any enthusiast needs, and it's only 12k... not 40k. Yes there are builders out there who want to build 12 quad core processing computers but obviously that is not what the OP wanted, so why even mention it?
I totally understand the machines aren't for gaming. I also understand the OP didn't realize what he was asking when he initially asked it. I also realize Archer can't accept a PC, yes a PC, that can cost 40K, when it can.

And you can do it without 12 CPUs. You can do it with a single board, be it something like Cyan's or my SR-2. I knew what the OP REALLY wanted, but he needed to be shown what he was actually looking for. He has also since changed his post a bit. He used SUPER COMPUTER without knowing what it could really entail. Now he knows.

It's just people trying to show they know a lot about computers and making themselves look crazy while doing so. The fact is that a 3k computer is fine... hell a 1.5k rig will be fine. There was no need to bring in 40k super computers into the mix when this is obviously not what the OP wants.
OK bear with me because this will be a little long... Starting with Pricing...

This tower has 2 fans in the front, 2 up top, and a large side fan for plenty of air flow. The controls are also on the front top of the case to increase or decrease the fan speed. Also inside this thing has plenty of space to spare for gfx cards and everything else.

So you were just being a condescending ass that felt the need to show someone who was asking for the wrong thing even when you knew what he truly wanted, that he was dumb in your eyes? I truly hope people forever do the same to you.
Also please show me one of these 40k PCs, please. I've googled it numerous times and haven't found a damn thing.
The fact that is is a gaming site is pretty irrelevant. Its a WoW site yet barely half the forum users play WoW.
When I read the OP, I thought he was looking for a work station. A top end Quadro card is going to set you back 4-10 grand.
We can't really assume "gaming computer" because even that is terribly vague. Just playing WoW/LoL? Throw a 2500k and 560 Ti in there and you'll max it all out.
Wanna play beautiful and/or unoptimized games like Crysis 2 and BF3? You should probably throw in a 2600k and a 580 or two.
Are you still using Razer/Logitech headsets? Then you probably don't know great sound so you won't notice the difference from onboard sound.

I am going with things I know that work. Preference on what you think "sucks" is up to the eyes of the beholder. Also was not looking for overly super computer but something in price range.
The BD burner can also burn DVDs, so the DVD burner is an extra (and the BD burner isn't that needed if you ask me).
Caviar Black would be better for an OS drive.
I don't really know how reliabe the Thermaltake PSUs are.
Also, the heatsink is old. If he decided to go with closed watercooling, he should use Corsair H100. If he doesn't want a "watercooled" CPU, Noctua NH-D14.
Sound cards aren't needed, but if he wants one, Asus Xonar series are better than Creative (Xense one comes with Sennheiser headphones too)
Finally, I wouldn't go with 560Ti SLI with that budget. I'd go with at least 570/580/6970 SLI/Xfire.
Waiting for the 40k pc. I'm really curious about the parts (not being sarcastic, I know it can be done)
By something in range you mean 1000-1500$ less than the OP can give?
When Endonyx said sucks, it wasn't a matter of preference. Just a fact.

My bro and I both got that Thermaltake power supply in our computers and it works really well. Blue drive also so when you are working with the gaming it would come in handy. I was stupid on the bluray drive. I really did miss the DVD burning as well -_-+ so you can mind 19 dollars lol :P
You can always go crazy and build something like 40 core 512GB RAM server for home use. I'm pretty sure that it's going to cost much more than $40 000.
4 of these will cost more than $18 000 alone.

There are 1tb SSD that are for like 3500$ always for a 40k+ server... I mean what server would not want one...
Here you go:
