    I highly doubt any motor in a shoe could pull laces tight enough to actually be useful.

    Nike patented a form of electronic shoe last year and also a patent for a CHARGER for the shoes. Looks like its going down!!! They'll probably be rediculously expensive like $300+ USD but people will buy them. Not going to lie... if they look cool I will too.

    If so, that would be terrible shoes. The mechanical parts would be (most likely) taking up quite some weight, plus they would need a really good system for configuring how much power needs to be applied to tie them, never mind the fact that if motor fails they would again probably become useless, at the same time as definitely being more expensive then the same shoes, but w/o the electronics, all just to cut out a 5 second action, that you normally only need to do once until you take them off.
