This is what I usually go for when going for walkthrough moves (obviously discounting signature moves like oblivious wing)

Bug: x-scissor/bug buzz
Dark: crunch/dark pulse
Dragon: dragon claw/dragon pulse (although outrage is alright too given most trainers have little pokemon and a lot are mono-typed teams)
Electric: thunderpunch/thunderbolt
Fairy: play rough/dazzling gleam
Fighting: drain punch/aura sphere
Fire: firepunch/flamethrower
Flying: drill peck/air slash (or acrobatics if this is the move I'll be spamming most and then no item held)
Ghost: shadow claw/shadow ball
Grass: lots of good options here: leaf blade/seed bomb/petal blizzard/horn leech for physical and energy ball/giga drain for special
Ground: EQ/Earth Power
Ice: icepunch/ice beam
Normal: body slam/tri attack
Poison: poison jab/sludgebombwave
Psychic: psychic/psyshock and for physical psycho cut or zen headbutt I suppose? Never needed physical psy so far.
Rock: rock slide/power gem
Steel: iron head/flash cannon
Water: waterfall/surf

Steel for example I rarely ever run, even for stab. Was quite surprised at the amazing options for grass tbh. And lack of amazing options for physical elemental attacks (electric, fire, ice).

Yeah, outside of the elemental fangs (which suck without Strong Jaws), recoil moves, and punches, there's not much in the way of physical "elemental" moves.

Ash would lose pretty much *ingame*
Rockslide + Draco meteor + Dragon tail + Bite = Pretty much imposible for a pikachu.

I'm almost caught up with the anime. Ya know, after watching the dub for years, I can't watch the sub at all. It's similar to a lot of anime I grew up on.
I'm enjoying XY though. The fights are quite nice.

I don't really get why "Play Rough" only has 90% accuracy. I think the devs are still trying to figure and work out Fairy typing and moves.

I finally hatched my Absol with Play Rough tonight! Took a while, but I got him. Luckily I got Absolite today too.

Now I need to figure out his moveset. I was going to go with PR, Night Slash, Rock Slide, and Fire Blast, but I was going to do that with Wide Lens(?) to increase accuracy, given how fragile absol is. With absolite I'm thinking of different options. PR and Night Slash are a must, but not too sure what else to include. Absol's Special attk is pretty decent too, so I can give him a good special move.

Was thinking something like this:

-Play Rough
-Night Slash
-Some combo of Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Future Sight/Rock Slide

Any ideas?

I would argue that for coverage Flamethrower/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt are more useful than Megahorn since it only adds super effectivness against Grass.
Sure it has much more BP than these moves but it's held back by accuracy.
Absol's special attack indeed isn't too bad to make this viable.

Ideally I personally would want Play Rough/Sucker Punch/Knock Off but until we get gen 6 move tutors it ain't legal.

Edit: Hell if you want to stick with physical moves and low accuracy you should probably look at Stone Edge.

I figured that to always be a choice of utility between Swords Dance/Sub/Baton Pass. Or even Protect to safely Mega-evolve and gain Magic Bounce.
