Well, I have to wait until I get to a pokemon center which isn't until the first big city. I will catch a pokemon so I can atleast trade it from my party to Demon so I can start with an egg right away.

It is. You'll always encounter one in the first patch of grass on the way to meet your group.

I think I saw fletchling on my first playthrough.

Getting back to him now, I think Grant was the honestly the hardest challenge I had in XY, even more than the Elite Four. That Tyrunt was fucking brutal when I didn't have a fighting type the first playthrough.
