Infernape is good, Empoleon is good in UU, but his lacks a recovery move, Swampert is very good, and is at the level of most UU pokemon, Torterra is pretty much useless, which is why he's in NU, Venusaur is actually in OU to my surprise, so I was mistaken about him, Serperior is also crap without his DW ability (which isn't available), and Feraligatr's dream world ability isn't available either.

The sad fact is that starters usually fall to the wayside when it comes to competitive battling.

Serperior is pretty amazing with his Dream World ability. If you can get one, that is.

Sceptile is also a pretty amazing sub-seeder.

You might say it's....Serperior to the other grass starters? Oh ho ho!

But seriously, some of the starters work well with certain setups. Swampert, Feraligatr, I think Blaziken was with speed boost, but I believe that's banned now, isn't it?

NU (Never-used): Mostly unevolved or pokemon with subpar stats, abilites, movepools
UU (Under-used): Not as good as a lot of the popular battlers, but still good choices
OU (Over-used): Standard tier with the best Pokemon who aren't overpowered

Man, the Blaze Black hack is genius. Turning the 1st gym from a regular battle to a rotation battle featuring all of the starters took me completely by surprise.

So guys, I don't know if it's allowed to discuss it here, but i can't get any hacks to work.

SoulSilver doesn't work to patch, and Voltwhite works to patch, but the lower display seems completely disabled on both Emulators (No$ and Desmu).
Or rather, half disabled. Outfight, I can't open the menu. Does anyone know any help? Or where I could get some help?

I'd say yes. It makes the game more interesting, but honestly I'd find a rom hack like what Blaze Black is for Gen 5.
