    This year, four projects were chosen to receive funding under the initiative. One of those projects, the only animated film chosen, was the Dragon Ball Z 2013 Movie! From the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Toei Animation, the Japanese animation house for Dragon Ball Z, received 50 million yen! That’s well over $600,000 USD! The United States has been chosen as the partner country for the Dragon Ball Z 2013 Movie project, which makes sense since movie studio FOX is playing a role in the movie’s production.

    Last month, Toei Animation launched an English website for the Dragon Ball Z 2013 Movie.
    The Dragon Ball Z 2013 movie will be the 18th movie in the Dragon Ball anime series. It will take place between Dragon Ball manga chapters 517 and 518, in the 10 year timeskip after Goku defeats Buu, before before the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Akira Toriyama along with Toei Animation, Fox International Productions Japan, Shueisha, Fuji TV, Bandai, and Namco Bandai Games are all involved. The latest Dragon Ball Z movie is set to release in Japanese theaters March 30, 2013. There is no word on a North American or European release date at this time.

    I hope the 2013 movie is longer then most I wouldn't even mind like a 1.5 hours or a 2 hour long movie.... imagine it ends in a cliff hanger meaning a sequel!? That would be godly... Like the gap between the defeat of majin buu and the world tournament could deff span 3 movies worth.

    I hope they do something like Goku is fighting the bad guy as a super saiyan 3, but he needs help and hes kind of depending on Vegeta and Gohan to pick up the slack. Gotenks gets knocked out of fusion and Trunks is killed... Vegeta snaps turns Super Saiyan 3! ... perhaps leading to an SS3 Gogeta or something. Then they use the dragon balls to wish people back etc.

    With all the people behind it, it shows promise. I do hope its.. better than the other movies. like Iadamson said it needs to be longer. The 40m ones are too short to get know the villain well/ feel epic.

    Did anyone else find it funny that Japan's government would fund a movie?
