    Intel and 580 motherboard question

So I am about to order my CPU (i52500k), MOBO and RAM(Corsair dominator 8gb) for my new build. Originally you guys recommended http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-...x16)-micro-atx , but I'm not sure if that would be suitable for a GTX 580, also it says it is not able to SLi (which I would like to in the future). Is this a good choice http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-p...rboard-lga1156 ? I see it has a lot of pce 2.0s and is SLI compatible.

    Thoughts?

The MSI board is LGA1156. Wrong platform for your CPU.

    http://www.asus.com.au/Motherboards/...specifications

    or

    http://www.asus.com.au/Motherboards/...specifications

These two motherboards support your processor, both allow for 2 way SLI.

The deluxe just has a few more features than the EVO, afew more usb ports, and fan connectors on the MOBO itself, but both are extremely similar.

I've been trying to find the P8P67 EVo as you suggest on Scan, and OCUK however I have not found it. Would this be suitable? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MB-443-AS

A lot cheaper on aria xD http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=43854

Might be slightly off-topic, but is the decrease in performance noticable when having 2x PCIE x8 as compared to 2x PCIE x16?
I have no idea if the current high-end cards use the full 8 lines when run in SLI/CF setup.

Checked quickly the specs of both and only difference I found was 1 less Ethernet port (EVO has 2, PRO has 1)

Unless I've misread something, most (if not all) current-generation graphics cards don't need more than x8 to work to their full potential.
