So I started playing a tank again and we did some attempts on Rag last night. This is the first time my pally has been in a gorup using logs. So when it was done I went and looked at the logs. On just the mell hits I got 11 times for 34.6k average damage and blocked 324 times for 33.8k average damage. What the hell, a block stops 800 damage on a 30k + hit is all?

No.
With the block-meta you will block 31% of an attack, with holy shield up you will block 51% of the attack.
The boss hits for almost 60k unblocked from what i remember.

You got hit for 34.6k damage AFTER block I imagine. Meaning that the 33.8k block was for just under 50%, which is what you'd expect from a paladin with holy shield up most the time, but not quite every time (should be 51% with 100% uptime on a fight that goes close to average).

I am new to readinf these logs espec tank logs. The way i am reaidng this tho when Itake a full hit I get hit for the 34.6k and a blocked hit I am still getting hit for 33.8k. Am I not reading this correctly? This is not for anything serious just more so out of curiousity.
