Combat Rogues had their Glaives. This is a legendary for 3 specs for a class. An Enh Shammy weap would be for a single class and a single spec. Resto Shams got the Ulduar Legendary and Elem's can currently get the staff? So you obviously play an Enh Shaman.

Yeah, but no raiding Rogue would have said "Oh, the glaives have dropped, too bad I'm an assassination Rogue, so I will pass on these legendaries for I will never go combat", it just doesn't happen. The glaives served 100% of the Rogue community because they would all happily use it, whereas how many Enhancement Shaman do you reckon have gone ele to get the staff, how many would even be allowed, probably only a very tiny proportion enhancement Shamans. Equally as far as I'm aware no one is actually calling out for an Enhancement only legendary, they're all mostly saying it should serve Rogues and Enhancement, because it's better to serve two classes than one. This is entirely the point, a legendary for a single class is stupid, that's why everyone's mad, a legendary just serving mages would be equally pointless. For one thing it screws over more than 50% of 10man raiding guilds in what is one of the funner aspects of raiding, getting a well deserved legendary. If the legendary would have been for any other specific class (pending melee druids), you idiots would have been just as mad because it wasn't for *your* class.I don't know what you really mean by this, no class has ever had a legendary of their own, by rights perhaps the one legendary that should have been for one class, the bow, was still shared between other classes. However, the Rogue has never had a true Legendary of their own (like the rest of the melee, on multiple legendary weapons).
I don't see what all the fuss over the Legendary is about. Most of you will never see Legendaries anyway, even when they're perfectly itemized for your class. That's part of what makes them "Legendary". And I'm sorry, but if you make decisions regarding your raid comp based on who can or cannot use one weapon that your raid will most likely never see before it becomes obsolete, you're the type of player I (and many others) won't miss.
Also, I don't think this argument that everyone is going to go roll a Rogue to have a shot at a Legendary holds alot of weight. It's not like everyone went and rerolled casters when the staff was announced. They were already quite popular and have been for some time. Doing a questline for a Legendary is very time-consuming, and I doubt those who DO reroll and don't enjoy the class will put all the time and effort into it just to have a shiny weapon. Rogues aren't the least popular class at endgame just because they don't have a Legendary. It's the mechanics of the class that turns people off, especially if they are used to the luxury of being ranged. Rogues also take a decent level of skill to be effective in PvP, so the incentive for folks who enjoy playing faceroll FOTM classes STILL won't be there for those considering a reroll.
