Case Airflow: Positive or Negative

Well.. it takes a bit of thinking what your main heat sources are and the directing more flow over these areas... thermodynamics bear is looking at you...

Heat rises so its better to have exhausts where this is going to flow

but dont listen to me I take the side panels off and just let my heat radiate away........ water cooling is the bomb tho

as for pressure levels... well fans are not that powerfull so I doubt you can create a vacume or a condenced air by just fan means thats gonna make much difference.

but like i say I have done away with fans totally... they suck and are noisy

@WarJames, in a good water cooling loop you pretty much need to have fans to cool the water as it goes through the radiators.

Plus, if you shop intelligently, you can get near-silent fans that won't make enough noise for you to hear them from 6 inches away. (My and many others' computers are like this.)

yeah i got a huge ass resistor on my fan cable for watercooling ... it spins really slow and still provide plenty of airflow over the radiator

I just got water cooling like 2 months ago and tested it with no fan to see if it worked

edit: yeah even the best of fans go troppo sometimes and the barings go in them so i just got sick of replacing them

Run them at like 20-45% for all time and they will last a very long time. Set them to manual controls.

What "more" input do you need? Positive air flow is better if you have to have one going either way.

I have the Rosewill Armor case which is completely mesh all around and I changed ALL the fans to intake. Temps didn't really change much at all.
