Upgrading my computer - Need some help -

    Hey there.

I've saved up around 800€ and I'm looking to upgrade my computer due to the new games that are about to come out. Since I'm very bad with computers I really have no clue on what I need to upgrade to be able to run the new games smoothly and good :-).

    Here is my spec:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4770
    Motherboard: Gigabyte X48-DS5
Hard Drive: WDC WD1500HLFS-01G6U0 (Western Digital 150GB)
    RAM: 4 GIG

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Forgot to say that I live in Sweden.

true! check the builds of the month on front page, or sweet spot builds at the sticky!
To clarify a bit: you could buy a new graphics card, but unless it's low-mid grade it would be bottlenecked by the CPU (and if it is you won't see a really big difference). So you'd have to buy a new motherboard. I'm not really familiar with prices in Sweden, but you could get a 2500k with a 560Ti, 8GB ram and a P67/Z68 M/B with that budget (assuming you can re-use your case).
Do you have any information on your PSU?
I'd definitely buy a new HDD too!

This should equate to roughly what you have available, maybe a little bit under.

    Custom build by Uggorthaholy

    moboMsi P67, SLi/CF ready – $129.99
    cpuIntel i5 2500K – $219.99
    ramCorsar 1600 MHz Vengeance Low-Profile 2X4GB – $57.99
    gpuTwin Frozr GTX 460 – $169.99
    hdd1Samsung Spinpoint 1TB – $59.99
    osWindow 7 Home Premium 64-Bit – $99.99
    psuCorsair 80+ 750w – $109.99
caseCooler Master HAF 912 Mid Tower – $59.99

    Final Price – $907.92
Note that certain parts can be changed in/out for personal preference, ESPECIALLY the case. I do not include SSD’s because I am not comfortable/knowledgeable enough to recommend them with any form of confidence

If it is under, upgrade the GPU to

    gpuTwin Frozr GTX 560 Ti – $244.99

If you still have a little extra, I highly recommend a cooler for your CPU like sinkCorsair A70 – $41.42
