I'm curious as to why the Jedi Consular class is nowhere near as popular as the SI class. I guess tossing pebbles around looks pathetic next to draining someone's energy with lightning.

i dont know all what the Jedi Consular has for its Melee but i think its more rogue/warrior maybe, not sure on how it does its hits really but the sith assassin is like a Enh shaman/rogue combo

but a lot of people like the lightning aspect and i its just my "guess" but the shadow AC is more bleeds? maybe and the Assassin is more of Force"magic" dots but they deal same amount of damage to the target and a bleed wont do more damage then its counter part dot if they specced/geared the same

again im just guessing out my ass i can be totally wrong about this

That's pretty much it. Lots of gamers have an aversion to playing the good guy for some reason, so the "pebble" ability isn't bad ass enough when compared to lightening. Same reason that Empire is leading Republic to numbers.

The Consular is the exact same as the Inquisitor. I was looking at certain "trees" and they were more or less mirrors. The biggest difference I can think of is with that knockback Assassins do where they jump up and slam down in AOE force lightning knockback. With the Consular instead of lightning it's a goldish coloured force-field that repels enemies. Where Inquisitors use lightning, Consulars likely use a kinetic form of the Force.

Its not a troll post, and I'm not knocking on anyone's choice of class, I'm just legitimately confused about the enormous draw of the Sith Inquisitor. Imo they look fun to play, but nothing seems to stand out any more so than any other class. I know shooting lightning is cool and all but is that the main draw of the class? And its not like Palpatine, the class' archetype ever became as popular as Luke, Han, Vader or Boba Fett, I don't know if any kid ever watched Star Wars and decided he wanted to grow up and become that. So please satisfy my curiosity, what prompted you to play SI? Are you a fan of their attacks? Their armor? Is their story just really good? Like I said, they look fun to play but I can't wrap my head around why this class will be getting rolled at least twice as much as the next closest class (according to our MMO Champ poll, I know the gap isn't as wide on the official site.)

Because the SI story is all about the search for more power and more knowledge on the dark side of the Force, and that's very interesting IMO. Also SI is the jack-of-all-trades in TOR. They can perform every role: Tank,Healer,Melee DPS, Ranged DPS

hm sustaining life makes me think of Darth Sion and using pure rage keeping himself from dieing and the force keeping his body together

That's just himself, though. I doubt he would be able to transfer any of that to someone else. He also doesn't fit the Sorcerer archetype at all.

i think there's 2 main reasons for being a sith inquisitor, at least in my opinion

1. double-bladed lightsabers

2. full hybrid class - healing/tanking/ranged dps/melee dps

i'm looking forward to double-bladed lightsaber tanking
