    Truely Awful Sound

Ok, started watching some movies on my PC again.

    Hardware:
    CPU: Intel i7 2600k
    MoBo: ASUS P8Z68 V-PRO
    Speakers: Logitech Z313 2.1
    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    3rd party Codecs: K-Lite Mega
    dxdiag: http://pastebin.ca/2086422

    Got a few problems:

    1) There is WAYYY too much bass on everything, even though as far as I can tell I've actually turned the bass pretty much off. (Unfortunately unlike my old Creative 5.1 speaker system this one has no bass dial on the remote.)
    2) The Volume normalisation/leveling is totally defunct.

You can always apply a EQ to all outgoing audio to lower the bass, dunno if that's what you're looking for.

Possibly an issue with the media player? What player do you use? I assume games work alright.
    Super casual.

    Windows Media Player,
    VLC Player,

Games aren't too bad... but they generally have less bass anyway.

What else would expect from Logitech? :P

But anyways, in VLC, click on the Extended Settings button (the one with 3 columns) and equalize it to something similar:

As far as I know, the Z313 is mostly bass with very 'meh' general sound quality. As mentioned above, your best bet is to enter your sound card's equalization settings and tone down the low frequencies.

It's mostly fine for actual music.... but for movies it's truly terrible.
