Keybind everything worth keybinding.
Keybind everything worth keybinding.
i have 44 keybinds and a few mousebinds, everything i need in fight..
12345VEFRQC MB4MB5 with shift, ctrl & alt
i have a naga though, but'll take forever to learn all those binds. i tried it in a few battlegrounds but no way, i was playing way more worse than clicking
With the steelseries cata mouse going now I bind a bit more than I used to, but basically for main use abilities or common cooldown ones I keybind. For the rarer stuff I click it. There's no reason you can't be highly responsive in both forms of skill use.

I dont click anything but to target, and then most of the time I just tab target and get the right target. I use:
1*,2*,3*,4*,5*,6*
q*,w**,e*,r*,t*,y
a**,s**,d**,f*,g*,h*
z*,x*,c*,v*
~*.
I have a Razer-Naga, and I use those buttons for non-combat stuff like hearthing, mounts, eating/drinking etc..
{*=With Shift/Ctrl Modifiers as well}
{**=Only with Shift/Ctrl Modifiers}
that makes 63 (If I counted correctly, I don't really know.) not counting my Naga's 12 (I only use 12/14 of the extra buttons) and their respective Shift/Ctrl Mods.
I like non-Naga binding because it means I can play my character on any computer rather than having to remember to bring my mouse with me, although I love my Naga a ton.
Stick with it! Just suffer through the learning curve (which is quick anyway, but can still suck) trust me, its worth it.

Also: Yes, I still have S bound to backpedal *yay* I find it easier in PVE when stacking to just tap S to get just far enough to shoot than to turn around and run. (Im also closer to exactly as close as I can get).
EDIT: ^^ on my hunter, dur, sorry.

The only "spells" I click are like, HS and guild perks.
Keybinding is a way more efficient than clicking your spells. I think honestly moving from Clicking to Keybinding would be the biggest improvement to your game play not just in WoW but in other games also.
Especially for PvP keybinding is very important. On my warr i have over 20 keybinds made (without the default ones).
I click to mount up, I click to HS, I click to set my focus target, I click even to bandage.. that is all I guess?
Keybind everything which you use inside combat. The only thing I have not keybinded is Summon Demonic Portal, no idea why not...
How do you define a clicker and keybinder, anyway?
I mean, I use 1-6 with my hand, anything further from 6 and there's a good chance I'll miss the key. I also bind q, e, r, t. This is enough to cover my most commonly used moved. I don't keybind anything with a moderate cooldown because I really don't trust my fingers to not hit it by accident. I click my mount, my cooldowns, professions, and some rarely used abilities. I use healbot for all healing spells. I move with WASD, and if I want to sidestep, I hold right click and hide A or D. I have occasionally hit both mouse buttons to move, but not usually (sometimes when I'm eating food lol).
I backpedal while tanking if I need to reposition a mob (using the S key), since putting my back to a mob can make me take some bad hits. However, I can be running one direction, jump, and in the air turn and fire an instant cast shot/spell and be facing the way I was going before I land, losing no speed. So I don't usually backpedal unless I need to make sure a mob is not hitting my back.
Am I a clicker or keybinder? Is my playstyle unusual?
I use mouse a bit and im not ashamed. I tried binding 1-5 with/without ctrl and shift, but its just more to remember. In pvp I use 1-6 on keyboard, 7-0 with help of mouse, and use mouse to pop cds. Only bind is ctrl-1 (disengage) and ctrl-2 (tranq shot)
