Best way to transfer gold ?

    Hello all,

Thanks for reading. Like the title says. I'm looking to transfer a large amount of gold (1mil+) from one realm to another. I'm looking for the best way to do it so I don't lose a lot of gold in the process. The realm I'm currently on is not that great. It's a low populated realm with very little to buy on the AH. I was thinking about going the mount route and buying the mats for the choppers and sandstone drakes, but not sure how well that will work out. If anyone has any advice on the best way to go about it I would really appreciate it. Thanks for any replies.

The best way to do it is mounts, especially if you can find TCG mounts on your AH. Reins of poseidus, wooly rhino, and the like will go for about 100k apiece.

Buying BoE is a nice way, ask the big guilds on your server if AH is in low supply. Sometimes they stack BoE in Gbank without use (we do).

But if your server has some mysterious fortune cards market spam that you'll buy every card past 200G 10-50% more than there value.
And if you sell MFC you'll make a nice profit as well (enough to cover the rebuy cost).

    1 Mill? /whistle

Unless you can find a spectral tiger on your low pop server I doubt you can do much. Even Sandstone drakes go for barely 30-35k. You'd need 30 of the damn things and be able to sell them again. You could, but damn that's alot of trouble and risk to take. You'll be selling Drakes into the next expansion

Im in the same boat as u (kinda).. Im looking to realm xfer also but i only want to bring 1 toon and i have 400k.

In facts sandstone drakes will probably see their price rise in next expansion, just like the wolk choper (near double on my server). Farming old mat seems more boring to lot of people and they pay to avoid it.

It's easy making tons of gold from low population servers (because everything is priced so high)

The only down-side to it is once you get bored of being on a crap low population server and you want to finally make the move to a Full population server, you can't really take the gold with it. You'll be losing money no matter what. Everything on your low population server will sell for A LOT less on a full population.

buying the 5k epic fortune card is one way. but would take 200 so...

Compare the prices on one server to another before you do anything; with patch 4.3 announced and fireland nerfs a lot of people are holding off on 378 boe's, I know that my guild bank is having trouble selling them at half the price of pre-firelands nerfs; now even guildies don't want boes for free because everyone's alt is already gearing up from FL. But if the prices are still high on your target server it might be worth taking some.

Mounts should always hold their price, any Tcg mounts, Vial of the Sands, Choppers, etc. and I think this is usually the best way to go. It's unlikely they will drop in price much, so even if you don't sell them straight away there isn't a big risk of depreciation.

FL Profession recipes may be worth it, if there are none on the server you're moving to. I know 4 or 5 people on my server that will pay 20-25k easily for the profession boot recipes and are scanning the AH every day for them. They won't hold that price in 4.3 but it's something to look into.

    Pointless.

If your going to a higher population realm or a realm with better progression oriented guilds your bound to hit an AH flooded with mats and other assorted items. So bringing them over from a low supply higher priced realm won't help. Second, you can't reasonably spend a million, so bringing over just a few characters with 50k each should suffice.

You don't say how many characters you plan to take, if you take an account full that is half a mill. I have sent characters to other realms to jump start there with just 50k and never felt the need for more.

Honestly, what in the hell is there to buy? When I passed my first 100k I started to realize that gold becomes meaningless very quickly

Ask a friend if he needs gold--lots of it. Let him purcase tgc mounts and he gives you the codes--you give him a gold--take a mounts of ah and then transver.
    Don't sweat the details!!!

You can't transfer a guild bank.

This is what I wanted to do with one of my characters to jump start my leveling toons on another server. Closer inspection of the rules on battle.net states that you can only take a character with a max of 50K gold (at 85).

I assume it is in place to stop hackers and botters transferring huge amounts of gold and items around.

If you monitor the various material markets IE, gems ores and leather. There is a good chance you can transfer all of your gold or even make a profit on it

Wow, that's a pretty low limit... Screw that, lol.

This is a dilemma I've been trying to figure out for myself for a bit. I've decided to spend my 1M on TCG mounts that I don't have, a decision I reach once I realized why it is I made 1M in the first place. So I'd recommend just spending your 1M on what it is you want to buy, if you've made 1M on a low pop server you'll be able to expand 50k back into at least a couple hundred thousand pretty quickly on a higher pop realm.
