Gemming/Reforging short guide:
Mastery > 1.2*Parry Rating = Dodge Rating > Stamina
Until Block% + Parry% + Dodge% + Miss%(5%) = 102.4%, at which point
Stamina > Avoidance > Mastery
but you should maintain the 102.4% unhittable cap.

I dropped 2 points from Cruelty and put them into Safeguard. I feel like I've overlooked this and the good uses for it. On H-Morchok we were having a problem with our Combat Rogue taking too much damage even with feint up. Last night with Intervene on every other stomp or so my side's healer definitely saw the improvement. Using it before the other tank would soak Hour of Twilight on Normal Ultrax helped a fair amount. On Blackhorn it was a mini cooldown while I was otherwise sitting there doing nothing while my stacks reset, and on Madness it came in handy for impales. Overall it feels like some added utility that I have to help healer stress, and since it works for the 4 encounters I tank I'll probably stick with it.
I'm currently using Safeguard and Rallying Cry combined to keep our warlock alive on heroic Ultraxion (where you need 6 people in total to survive the HoTs, which is a real pain on class selection); I don't see why it hasn't been praised further this tier.
I'm new to shield tanking. I'm seeing some of the most geared Prot Warriors with roughly 85% to 95% CTC (miss+parry+dodge+block). Does this mean that they are relying on Shield Block to reach full CTC in current heroic DS gear levels (equating to 33% uptime)? Or is there something I am missing? Thank you for any help.
well I see very few that actually meet 102.4

Are you certain they don't reach 102.4%? In LFR last weekend, I got accused of being a bad because I have some stamina gems, but I informed them that I'm CTC. So unless you've checked their armories and are certain they aren't using the right buffs/food/elixirs, I wouldn't be so sure of your claim.
Just dropping by with the CTC vs stamina subject.
There is one fight, in heroic DS, where you would consider dropping the CTC cap. And that is madness heroic. The reasons are; Too much in-mitigable damage. Otherwise you always want to have the CTC cap.
Hey guys,
I'm not quite sure but what would be the best trinket combo for heroic warmaster? I really am not sure. I also received heroic SSV yesterday but have not regemmed for it.
I did my gearing around MoBI and using resist/mastery elixers. I then maximized stamina via gemming, 2nd trinket, etc. There is a lot of shadow damage in P2 and I found the extra resistance to be useful for goriona and the splash damage from the healing debuff.
Isn't droping the ctc an option for yor'sahj too?

OK this is like the biggest noob question ever, but when you got 102,4% total avoidance without shield block (block, dodge, parry, miss), why do you still use shield block anyways?
I mean you cant avoid more than the cap, right?
Sorry for the super dumb question
