    Old PVP Ranks ..

    Hi there,

I was with a group in a dungeon today and I saw a Knight-lieutenant Mage. We were chatting in the party chat and then he started bragging about his main. I asked him about it and such, you know, was just having a conversation and asked him for a name server etc etc, . When I searched for his character, he was a rank 14 Grand Marshal Warrior!

The thing is I thought he just started playing his Mage again after a break, like most of thr people do. but looks like the Mage is just an alt. ( already thought that he might bought one of the accounts, but I'm here to check ).

Long story short: Is it possible to have both a Grand Marshal and a Knight lieutenant characters ?

    Thanks

Isn't Knight Lieutenant one of the new PVP ranks you get from doing RBGs and Arena's? Maybe he got one of the ranks "old skool" and one of the new PVP ranks?

Just taking a wild guess here, as I have no idea how that would be possible otherwise.

Even if Knight-Lieutenant was an old school rank, why wouldnt it be possible to have both? Vanilla was long and he could have done rank 14 with his warrior and then rank 7? or so easily with his mage.

he got it from rated BGs on his mage

Perhaps (maybe) I did not understand, but anyone can have different titles on the same or more than one character. I can have the "stone guard" or the "general" and choose which show

I don't quite understand what you mean. Do you mean is it possible to have an old PvP rank on more than one character? If so, yes. I have Corporal on my Priest and Private on my old Paladin.

@OP: the new Rated Battlegrounds award the "Old PvP titles" now

blizz decided that we have been unique snowflakes for too long, and you can now pug ur way to FieldMarshal / High Warlord titles
even more so, you keep all the titles as you rank up, gg

so yes, its easily possible now to have multiple titles on various chars

Unless the old PvP ranks were account bound, there's no reason you couldn't have titles on two different characters, but it's a lot easier to do that with the new battleground rating system

What he mean is, getting Grand Marshall takes a lot of hours grinding PvP for, and I mean A LOT! I'm not 100% sure since I didn't get high ranked myself back then, but I'm pretty sure that you had to keep on grinding PvP to keep the title, else your rank would fall down.
And then to have another high ranked character with that Grand Marshall, a rank that also takes a lot of grinding seems impossible.

Grand Marshall took long, but Knight lieutenant didn't take that long.
    Easily possible.

This. Or he could have gotten the knight-lieutenant title through RBGs. If he gotten them both during Classic, he must have been a PvP freak (and possibly no-life). It was quite hard to keep up the ranks, as you had to have more than a certain amount of HKs to keep the rank IIRC.

I know I never got further than rank 5 on my old warrior, as I have always been playing casually.

That bolded statement is false. Once you obtained your Rank 14 you always kept the title. It had nothing to do with HK's. Ranking up and getting to Rank 14 was about the amount of honor you were gaining every week.

Up to rank 10 was easily doable while raiding 4 nights a week and having a life away from wow aswell.

The old PvP ranks and the RBG ones are the same. I had titles from the old classic PvP days and pretty much used it as a way to show that my character is very old. I don't really mind them reimplementing the old titles per se, but it would sure be nice to get some other unique title to compensate for that. I think those of us who have stuck around with the same characters since vanilla have earned at least that.

My lock is r10 and my rogue is R8 + multiple alt rank 4-5 from vanilla.. Nothing hard in that , just needed alot of free time back then!

old pvp ranks -> 14 different titles and ranks to go with "now Feats of Strength which award Titles"
new rbg ranks -> a few different titles and ranks some with identical names to classic ranks.

Thanks for the responses guys, I really appriciate them.

Thanks Stormstrike for the response <3, but I guess I need more feedback.

Clarification: What I meant is that, is it possible to have a rank 14 character with another rank 7 character in 1 account ? ( all titles are old skool which awards feats of strength, RBG's are not involved in this in any way ).

Can 1 person achieve rank 14 on a character and rank 7 on another character in 1 account ? or is it impossible ?

It is possible, just not really probable. 1 rank 14 was about the amount of HK's I have in total per week, so.
