Yes weird combinations of resummoning and/or respecing and half summoning pets fixes it. Hasn't happened in a while but sometimes it takes a little randomness with summoning and respecing, but it goes away.

I find the pet bar bug much more annoying, I have my pet bar invisible unless I mouse over, so I often don't notice it's empty till I mouse over to do something. RAAAAAAAAGE!

"We" can't do squat, but if oyu duel someone and have them kill your pet you can revive/resummon it and it should be ok.
