Useless option. If you want to surrender - let them take all the flags/bases, you will lose in 30 seconds.
On big BGs like AV,when you can't lose fast enough, people usually come to farm HKs and honor, they don't care about winning or losing -->this option is useless again.

I don't think it's a very good idea. Even though you read a lot that players give up after the 1st cap or first base lost. People who love pvp, sometimes, gain more motivation to do a little extra if they know they are behind. They try to do crazy things, cause what do they have to loose? This way they show their skills and give a bit of a show.

With a surrender button, no way you'll see such things anymore.

WoW is designed as time sink, so anything reduces time you play wont be implemented. Also if you want to give up - just stay at base and let them cap everything ?

This would be a terrible idea. It promotes just giving up when things seem a tiny bit bleak instead of manning up and getting the job done. Many has been the time I was behind on resources or in AV things were capped waaaaaay before us. You fight on, try your utmost. It is in matches that start bad that you can get a truely crushing win on an opponent, cause they think they have it in the bag and you steal it from them.

There is a surrender button...it's called Not Rezzing.

As Horde, I'm used to it. We lose a lot.

Why not make a Poll OP?

Yes, I would like that. It could reward the 50% of normal honor gain to losing side, and the regular 100% to winning side (or 80% don't know).

I dunno why after all the "french" jokes I imagined the surrender button would be blue white and red.

    I don't mind if...

    1. You initite "let them win" vote, similar to dungeon finder vote kick system
    2. you need 3/4 of people to agree with you
3a. if vote fail you get insta kicked out of bg and get 24h deserter debuf (we don't need tards like you in our bg!)
3b. if vote pass, pfff I don't care, with 3/4 slackers we won't win it anyway
Why you think the Net was born? Porn! Porn! Porn!

I hate it in LOL (winning or losing, doesn't matter) and I would hate it here.
It's a lame way to ruin the winning teams fun or to chicken out of a game that's going bad.

Nope, even in rbg if you are losing, just tell your team to leave the bg, there's no penality for that so no point to add this.
What happened to the deserted debuff?

No, quite the contrary. Losing party should suffer (even more than just waiting till the end), so the next time they will have more incentive to play better or not play at all. If everyone will just surrender - no improvement will be made in the skill area. You think current skill of BGers is bad? Implement "Surrender button" and you'd be surprised.

Would be cool but yeah, the problem would be "just let them win!"

There is already one in game, its called leave battleground.

Yeah except thanks to douche-bags who BOT whenever you leave you have to wait 15 mins.

Until blizz makes an option for us to leave a BG WITHOUT getting deserter...we have a problem

    NO. Absolutely not.

Almost every time I go into a BG, there is inevitably someone saying 30 seconds in that "we're doomed, we should just give up and let them win", and half the time, we end up winning. Especially if enough people just report the ... let's call him a whiner ... as afk and he gets kicked. Give these people a surrender button and they'll just spam that the entire time, get their pitance of honor points for the queue and move on.

A surrender button in rated BG's might be a nice addition, but it would have to come with a pretty big penalty to avoid people over-using it.

Terrible idea. It would just be like HoN... As soon as some crybaby sees that they are going to lose they will vote for a concede. No!

If I don't want to surrender, why should I be forced to loose beacause of other players, I have won matches being down by two flag caps.

Unfortunately this idea flops, I would hope to never see it in a live server.
Like I said strict rules, in bgs like AB sometimes a come back isn't possible even with a 4/5 cap (rarely) which is why I said strict rules

It would make some achievements even harder to get (the ones about winning by huge difference).
