Imgur vs Imageshack

I just started using IMGUR a while ago and its a whole lot more convenient.

You have to make an account I believe. And then people can see your entire album and whatnot and some people don't like that kind of invasion of privacy.

We do love imgur and point out that it's awesome wherever we can, but it would be silly to force people to use it or whatever.. just keep on mentioning it whenever it's relevant.

Encourage people that want to attach pictures to a post, or link to them, to use imgur instead of imageshack. imageshack has popups and takes about 3 clicks to see a picture fullsize. imgur allows people wanting to upload pictures the ability to get the direct link to the image (and not a page) without signing up, and is overall a much easier site to use.

This wouldn't be a problem if people knew how to properly link to an Imageshack image.

imageshack barely ever works for me, the page just freezes while loading, really wish people would use imgur :<

I've been using imgur a lot lately because of my fellow mods. I <3 it a lot. I guess use what suits you, but imgur is very easy and clean. and fast.

God yes. It's amazing how many people don't read which link they are copying.

Pretty easy to just censor the imageshack url, like most places have done for megaupload, then post an announcement to start using imgur. Did that on my forums and within a week, pretty much everyone had stopped using imageshit.

I'm starting not to trust imageshack they were great but now with all the ad's/pop-ups and so on... I believe I might have gotten a bit of crap on my PC from them. Imgur is defiantly a lot cleaner. Ofcourse that's my opinion anyway.

While I didn't get anything on my PC... I have gotten annoyed that recently they don't keep me logged in anymore. Hell, they don't even save my login email, even though I check the damned box to do so. -.- I am likely going to move on over fairly soon to imgur, I've used it a few times and did like it, but I've been using shack for a much longer period of time. People don't like change! ;p
