    [Music] Music that evokes sadness

    Hey guys

I tend to like sad/emotional music. I would love to hear some songs that you find move you. I am open to songs with or without lyrics, orchastra, etc.

Mad World by Gary Jules. It was featured in the movie Donnie Darko (which is a movie that I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it)

Check out Henryk Górecki's third symphony, subtitled "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs." The article tells you all you need to know. It's a tearfest before you even hear the first note.

Romanticizes/brings back the pain felt from the loss of people dear to me.

    I second Migari's suggestion! ^^
I especially love The Sixth Station by the very same, very magnificent Joe Hisashi from Spirited Away:

On a related note, Aion has some amazing tracks, Still, Sad World is one of them.

Placebo also has haunting tracks capturing that dysfunctional feel so if you're into that sort of music, check them out.

This song, My Skin is absolutely brutal - sounds sad, and deals with very painful subject matter.

Loreena McKenitt's Dante's Prayer sounds somewhat bittersweet, but there is always that sad theme dominating underneath... possibly because she wrote the song for her deceased love -- and makes it sadder for me still to know that she has never married or been with anyone else after his death.

What Sarah Said by Death Cab for Cutie wins by far for making me feel all sorts of things

Mm, for me it's this song, in both versions.. Just cries whenever hear it, it's from an anime I watched.. But that song just.. gives me chills really.

    and the music box version

And now I feel terrible sad by hearing them...

Edit: Another song that makes me sad is "The Fray - Over my head (Cable Car)" then again it's probably just cause it's got a bit of personal memory for me :x
