Probably just divine intervention. The goddesses need a hero to use the Triforce of Courage and defeat evil. Who better than a reincarnation of the guy who defeated Demise?its never fully explained why link like zelda and demise(ganon) keep coming back
if the original chosen hero of the goddess is the first (non time traveling, or even the creator of the time portal in SS) "link" that would make it make sense.

yeah but they did set up a few plot lines for SS to have a prior game. So much techy stuff in the desert and the sacred grounds and Demise was kinda weak since u only really saw his real form at the end.... and his forms before that were mad easy

I can't in all honesty call any Zelda game 'mature.' That's not their intention though.
Stopping all the textual hand-holding wouldn't be making it mature, also. It'd be making it more effective and its environments more artful though.

Also a direct sequel to OOT adult link timeline. Solely for the fact that the game starts with link already knowing who he is, what he is capable of. Then letting him face off with an enemy that is smart rather than pwerfull would be amazing to me. I'd like to see a mature, calm, calculated link....I want to see him being cool and awesome, but also seeing him get desperate before finally overcoming his obstacles. When I play as link, he always looks as a decent kid who knows NOTHING of ANYTHING, and you learn about the world and finally when you are used to the world the game ends.WoW characters that need/deserve to get killed/punished/otherwise removed from the story: Tirion(dead now), Thrall, Malfurion, Sylvanas(soon?), Jaina, Tyrande
