My Inquisitor is going to wake up at the Korriban proving grounds ready to rip the beating hearts from my rival apprentices' chests and feed them to the Banthas.

Err, do they have Banthas on Korriban? Hmm, they're probably herbivores too. I'll have to come up with a better wake-up story once I learn up on some Star Wars lore...

How else? In the wrong jail cel that just so happens to be getting emptied out for some reason and no one understands why I'm there.

Bonus: Some angry person will insult me to no end before telling my I'm about to die.

Also... there WILL be rats. Non-negotiable... there will ALWAYS be rats.

You do in the City Elf Origin, in the hovel you call home. Also the Dalish doesn't start the game by waking up, but he does so after the very first dungeon. Also, in the Dwarf Commoner origin you had just gotten up as the carta lord walks in, but I'm not sure about that one. You also literally wake up in a prison cell later. Spoiler.

Didn't the Human lord opening wake you up and send you about your royal day?
Which games do you wake up somewhere strange?
/shrug it's more an elderscroll starting thing far as I remember rather than a random RPG thing. Though both Kotor games hand you control after waking up in less than desirable circumstances (crashing ship and soon to be abandoned mining facility).

You might want to replay, umm, Baldur's Gate 2 I think it was. and as other posters have stated, yep dragon age has a bunch of waking up starts. Anyway, I was kinda hoping people wouldn't try to poke holes, just embrace the spirit of the topic. It tells a lot about how you see your character based on what you imagine your first interaction with it would be.

It'd be okay as some posters have said that you won't literally wake up, but instead fade in to a scene with character as opposed to "bing! here's your character, move right along to the first quest NPC"

I'd like my Imperial Agent to start the game perched on some form of high ground (thinking in a high window, for instance), sniper already aimed at the head of my target, and then the first thing I do in the game is a headshot, followed by a swift escape to turn the quest in. Yes. That would be neat.

on the first day of early access, have my wife make me a huge breakfast, put a blanket over the window of my computer room and get ready for a nice like 20 hour session of release day awesomeness!

Then I remember that I have 17 more days of now work or responsibilities and that I must pace myself accordingly.
