"Fix my DPS" - Log analyzes and general help *READ OP FIRST*

Okay so, I'm just going trough our last resets logs (we didn't have logger this week but I pulled 34.7k this reset). I know I fucked up reck timing and somehow managed not to use three but the thing I was watching was rage gain. Somehow I'm only receiving rage from 2 charges while the other warrior in our group got 120 rage from charges.

Did I have something wrong here? As far as I can read to the events of my character I did cast 4 charges that fight.

Also if someone has time I don't mind you looking trough the log damagewise aswell (excluding the part where I don't reck at execute cuz I fucked up my 2nd reck.)

If you charge the same target a 2nd time without charging something else, you won't receive rage. If you alternate targets each charge, you'll continue to receive rage for each one.

You charged Phemos once then Pol 3 times so you will get rage for 2 charges, nothing mysterious there. And he did 7 charges of which only one was on consecutive targets so he got 120 rage.

You can see it easier if you just view the charges rather than resources.

Was looking for advice for a warrior in our guild, hes quite new to raiding in general but i feel as though his number could be alot higher, esp because we are really struggling to kill twins before enrage because people keep dying to random shit.

Well for starters, his sweeping strikes damage is way too low, that could be a tank issue rather than him though. If they're being tanked properly however he should be doing 5-7% with it rather than 0.5%. His execute damage seems a bit low as well. Also bladestorm is better than bloodbath afaik on 2 targets. He also missed out on a 3rd reck because he delayed it on his 2nd use. Since the fight is longer than 6:10.

Yeah, believe that fight the tanks had some terrible time keeping the bosses together for some reason. Though maybe he forgot to use it. So sweeping strikes should be up more often. As well as have him switch talents around on certain boss fights. Oh I see, he also didn't use reck on the 15%> execute times. Yeah seems like he's been popping his reck a bit after it's off CD.

I had a couple times during attempts where bloodthirst wouldn't crit for 3-5 times in a row while zerker rage was on CD, this caused enrage to fall below 90% several times. Also, on our last pull, apparently my second pot never went off which affected the execute phase greatly.

Any other insight would be great.

Just a few things off the top of my head,
After 20% make sure that you have almost full rage.
Wait for a the first charge before you actually pop Reck to maximize your uptime during cooldowns, as he starts casting it quite often sub 20%.
Fit in as many executes as you can during Reck, don't forget to put down ravager before you pop it.
After cooldowns are over, you should be BTing on CD even if you are enraged (unless the boss is about to die and you have sufficient rage).
Don't be too hasty to use your rage, it's fine to save some rage on execute phase as long as you don't cap of course, and then start unloading them once you get a damage proc (trinket/legendary/wep enchants etc.).
Also afaik, you use RB once you unload your initial rage after the CDs as it is better DPR and you won't have enough rage to sustain execute/BT.

Hi there,

today we killed Blackhand on normal. I was horrified by my damage output and overall DPS. Here is the log and this is my armory

I played as Fury, with an iLvL of 673. I also have the SoK trinket but I didn't see much of a difference with it, except on the bursts.

I tried various item and trinket combinations. At most I had a 300 to 500 DPS difference, I'm not even sure. I got very frustrated and mad. What I noticed is that my Enrage uptime was pretty shit. I was on adds, and overall I could not keep up with the damn boss' movement. I just keep lagging behind and do nothing. I believe that is part of the reason for my shitty DPS. I used the Glyph of Enraged Speed and still believe my uptime on the boss was completely appalling. Unfortunately, I don't know where to check my actual boss uptime. I feel like 10-15% of the fight I was just running around doing nothing.
I don't know what else to add. If you have any questions about anything that I've not made clear enough or missed, I will do my best to answer ASAP.

I don't know how to help myself anymore but I absolutely deal no damage with my arms warrior. No matter what I try, i don't live up to my own expectations. I have ilvl 673 with multistrike on almost every item, I keep rend up and use sweeping strikes on cd but there seem to be something I do completely wrong. I already consider rerolling on Fury warrior allthough it makes no fun to me at all.

Hey all, just frustrated with what I am doing vs what I could be doing. I feel like when I do not get a SD proc I just shit the bed and scrub the bottom of the meters with my tooth brush. Rocking 676 and feel like I am dpsing at a 660 rate.

I prefer to go Fury but have gone arms for multiple add fights, should be noted that this is my first expansion as a melee/warrior have been a warlock the past 2 years.

So I have been playing a Warrior since the start, but I have been tanking a majority of the time. This expansion I am taking a break from the tanking side of things and DPSing. Now while I am not the worst DPS in my guild, I feel that my DPS is terrible, especially in Single Target fights. I am going with 2H Fury atm, I want to get the Heroic one hardens off of Gruul and go SMF fury throughout BRF, unless Arms really pulls ahead in the Sims. For the time though can anyone tell if I have any major issues to look at with my Fury spec/Gear/Rotation?

Okay, we finally nailed Mythic Butcher, however my DPS was garbage. Looking at the logs I have no idea what I did wrong. my SIMC dps value is around 34k, I ended the fight at just over 30k. I don't know if it was just bad crit RNG, but my opener was far short of what I've done in the past. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well I had a quick glance at your Gruul kill, here are a few things I noticed.

You shouldn't be running with Bladestorm on singletarget for starters, judging by your 6 min kill time I'd go with Bloodbath.

Since you can't use your 3rd recklessness there you either save your reck for the execute phase or you go with AM to get 3 recks out of it.

You're delaying your CS a bit between applications, try to use it on cooldown, there's one case towards the middle where you used it 10 seconds after it was available. Should also be allowing yourself to have a decent amount of rage when CS is coming up so you can fill every global within the CS window.

Your execute damage seems a bit low, probably partly due to not saving reck for it. You should make sure that you have full rage every time your CS is coming up during the execute phase. And a good chunk of your damage comes from execute phase as Arms so not having Reck there is really having a big impact on your damage.

Also you let rend fall off a couple of times, which should really never happen as it's a stationary boss with no movement that puts you out of range of boss.

Reposting from thread I created cause it seems like this is the right place to post this -

At the start of the expac I switched to a warr for the first time. I went fury cause it seemed fun, rode out the Glad Stance storm figuring it wouldn't last long and just never got a good 2h to try arms out so it was never an issue.

Finally a week or three ago I got the sword off heroic koragh and said 'aight time to learn arms'.

I've been practicing it on easier fights and in heroic 5 mans while going back to SMF for fights that I need to be confident in my dps for cause I just can't seem to really get the hang of it. I know I am gimping my DPS a little by occasionally refreshing Rend too early, but I am working on it. Still feel like my dps is low either way.
