    Strange Keyboard Problem (Please Help)!

    Hello!

The other night I walked away from my computer and when I returned half of the keys on my keyboard stopped responding.

I unplugged it, reinstalled drivers, checked for sticky keys, and even tried a usb keyboard to no avail. Interestingly, when I tried the usb keyboard the exact same keys were not responding.

I'm utterly confused as this cannot be a hardware issue. Has anyone ever heard of this?

    Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a mapping problem, usually mappings are set in the registry, so not sure how they were turned off unless you have a roommate who played a prank. Just download a key mapper and reset maps. Try SharpKeys, its old but should still work

Thank you so much for your reply!

Unfortunately, sharpkeys did not work for me! Even in the "type key" box the keystroke would not register.

Could it be possible that my computer is infected with something overriding the registry binds? How would I check for this?

    Thank you.
