65th percentile = belonging to the top 35% of players, e.g. 65% of players scored below (or equal) to that DPS percentile.

Influencing it just means DPS'ing higher. 99th percentile is top 1%. 100th percentile (although not technically shown in WarcraftLogs) is rank 1.

so ultimately, you can only push that by dpsing higher?

In essence if you are in a Raid grp that "moves bad" and thus you sustain a "dps loss" your % will be low? For Kargath M, that means less buff less dps lower %?
Or how is it calculated? Essentially, does it take gear into consideration? or does it stack your output up against everyone elses?

What does it ultimately say about your playing?

Could you explain for dummies please?

Looking at your butcher kill (easiest to see what's wrong)

- really low SS uptime for a single target fight (83%), should be as close to 100% as possible
- really low BA uptime for a single target fight (67%), should be as close to 80% as possible.
- don't use barrage on a single target fight, only use it with 2 or more targets, same thing with explosive trap
- arcane shot alot more, with focusing shot, you should be in the 75+ range where as you shot only 39
- you didn't use a potion a second time with time warp, big dps loss there.

Thanks for the pointers. I know my SS and BA are deplorable...re: Explosive Trap, I had read somewhere that there was a slight dps boost in using it...but I take it that this is not true?

Another question: If I am focus capped/close to focus capped when L&L procs, should I still hit Explosive shot in succession or should I focus dump by alternating shots?

If you do lower DPS, for whatever reason, your percentile will be lower. It's pretty simple.

There's a billion excuses to make up for it being low. "Raid moves bad", "we don't do poolparty strat", "I have a shitty bow", "I have a shitty trinket".

You can filter iLvl intervals on any ranking list or on your own ranking thing:



All it says is how much DPS you can do in comparison to everything else. You can take that info and treat it as you want.

Not used to reading worldoflogs (use warcraft logs, way easier to see the issues) but you shot at most 17 chimaera shots when you should've shot 28. That's a massive loss in dps. You also multishot for some reason. Your uptime on sniper training could be higher. You potted only once. Only looked at Butcher but this should be a start.

uptimes look good, but i think the fact that you guys don't lust/warp at the start might be gimping all of your dps (i don't know many guilds that don't;\)

i don't have numbers to back it up, but i'm sure it would cut your kill time by quite a bit and raise your overall raid dps by a bit also since you're just that close from another crow at 3:56s

Comparing both our logs directly, my skills are on average just hitting for higher most likely due to MS.

I've been having dps issues throughout the HM progression, now I feel like I should be 2-4k dps higher. Butcher mythic seems to be a good place to check my logs. Simcraft (2-5k dps too low) and warcraftlogs confirm (I'm below the 75th percentile in the 663-677 bracket).

I feel like sometimes I fuckup my prio list by fucking up my focus management, but I'm interested in what you folks have to say.

Only look at try 11 and higher, I used another scope and we lusted later before that.

PS my shot prio is ES > BA > TotH > AMoC > ET > AS. I've included GT in those fights but I won't use it anymore besides pre-pull and maybe when there's nothing else to use in movement phases and I'm focus starved. But that shouldn't happen of course.

I've heard of a prio list going LnL > TotH > ES > .... and I've tried it but it didn't change much, neither worse nor better.

So we've been bashing our heads against the mythic brackenspore wall for weeks on end now, and I can't help but feel like I should be doing more dps than what I do, not just on brackenspore but all the other bosses as well. Granted, my cloak is shit due to very, VERY unlucky drops and other classes having more EP than me, but I feel like there's something else going on. I've read icy veins and azerothians guide inside and out, and my prio currently looks something like crows > ES > black arrow > barrage > AS.

I know I'm not playing 100% so sometimes I mistakenly fire off too many arcane shots so I don't have enough focus for crows/BA, but I'm working on it and unless something throws me off encounter-wise I maintain a pretty good flow on the attacks.

I was hoping you guys could help me figure out if it's a gear issue, a priority issue or something else(?).

would you mind to elaborate? i agree about the 90 talent (noticed this mistake too late), but ET is said to be superior to unbuffed AS in different guides (e.g. thrill of the wild, Azorathion). anyways the the dps difference should be in the hundreds, not thousands, w/ or w/o ET. that can't be all.

Hey guys. I'm trying to re-learn SV, not having seriously played it in years. I've been maining BM but the numbers just aren't viable for further progression.

I'm going off the instructions at the beginning of the thread, but I'm unfamiliar with warcraftlogs and can't find the separations between ES crits & LnL's. What do you think is going to be the biggest improvement to my dps? Thanks for the help.
