Hello there,

last night I tried BM for a couple of fight and sometimes it was just awesome and on other fights very anticlimactic.

Spec: BM
Ilvl: 681
Expectations: I don't expect a certain number, I want to find out what went wrong there

Logs: On the one hand, I had this log for Thogar and thought that BM really must be the shit now! Then I got these logs of Gruul and Iron Maidens (compare to our kill where I played Survival). Hans and Franz was actually quite disappointing, too. I don't have 4pc so I'm missing some extra DPS there, but does it really make that much of a difference?

4p for BM is enourmous. With your 27% uptime on BW on gruul i wouldn't be suprised if 4p alone would have given you 3 or even 4k additional dps.

yo, more of a how to use simc question, where's the option to normalize my scaling to agility? so that they're all 1:X ratio

Unless I'm missing something, it does that automatically. The top line of the stat scaling is non normalized, and the very next line is normalized. Unless it's an option I turned on somewhere and forgot about it, it should be right there in the scaling report.

It doesn't seem to be primarily a rotation issue. You're doing poorly on several of the basics.

Your BA uptime was low on the fights you didn't do as well on. Max uptime is around 84%. High 70s is what you should be shooting for.

Also SS uptime is low on the fights you did poorly on. That should be as close to 100% as possible.

You are not pre-potting or if you are, you aren't using a second one. That's a big DPS loss right there, as it's more than a 20% increase to your primary stat.

You seem to be prioritizing using Glave Toss, probably one reason why your BA/SS up times are low on several of the fights. It's not a top priority or top damage ability.

If you can fix those things, you'll be doing much better like you did on the Gruul fight

Yeah, the rotation I was told to use seems ..lacking alot. I am wondering if it is just a jealous hunter giving bad advice type of thing..I tried Azors too but my fingers get knotted trying to figure it out LOL

Well currently hunters are less about a fixed rotation than a question of priorities.

The "rotation" in Azor's guide becomes much simpler once you understand what those priorities are and why they are priorities.

I'd concentrate on understanding that rather than trying to memorize the list.

Two more things. Barrage almost always better or at least as good as glave toss even for single target.

On the Blast Furnace or any add heavy fight you should be using multi-shot a lot to put a dot on all the adds, you don't seem to have used it even once on Blast Furnace.

Hello fellow hunters, i need your help, ive changed to BM recently (since 6.1) and always had 90+ sv loggs but now as BM im around 73%, im not comfortable with this specc and i honestly donw know how to play it proplery, please help me out!

It's really hard to judge cos you seem to be dead for half the kills this week >.< Sad to say but all 3 hunters in the guild are not performing up to par. For the kills that you did not die, like Beastlord, you used Multi Shot too little times. In my kill 40 seconds faster, I used Multi Shot 50% more times than your parse. Although my own Beastlord parse isn't great (I always feel bored as hell during that fight and lose concentration :P ) Your number 1 priority right now is to stay alive.

Out of 6 kills, you were only alive at the end of 2 of them.

I'm not sure what your pet was doing on Flamebender but it's auto attack is not hitting as much as you'd like. My pet did 50% more damage and more hits than yours did (both BM). You also cast Stampede only once in a 6 min 50 sec fight which is a huge decrease in DPS. Missed your one big CD.

On Hans and Franz you didn't cast Stampede at all. Your Steady Focus buff from double Cobra's is also extremely low 26%). Steady Focus gives you and your pet Focus Regen, which gives your pets more attacks, which gives your pet more attacks, which increases the chance that you get Focus back from Invigoration.

I gained roughly almost double the amount of Focus as you did on the same fight with similar fight lengths.


On Beastlord, you are not using Barrage correctly in bringing the adds down. Your DPS spikes for a bit then drops off and doesn't spike again until 2 packs of adds have passed.

Same issues with Focus regen as well for this fight.

For Gruul, you had bad RNG probably as my Bestial Wrath reset a few times from KC and lasted almost 50% longer as well as a percentage of fight length.

For Oregorger, you should have gone Stampede instead of Blink Strikes. Pets can't attack the boss when he is rolling. They blink to him, cast 1 attack and he rolls again.

My DPS for the fights above as BM as reference :

Flamebender 35K (had pretty bad RNG)
Hans and Franz 35k (should have gone Stampede for this)
Beastlord 48K
Oregorger 32k (not that great, only 86th percentile)

Thank you soo much for the help so far, so its keeping up Steady Focus is mandatory pretty much, hans and franz my pet bugged with blink strikes, blinked to where either guy jumped, I think i dismissed and summoned 2x that fight

Having stead focus up should in turn fix my issues with having significantly less GCD's than the other hunters I presume

I'm simming at about 30,700 dps as SV on a ST Patchwerk type fight. You'll see that my weapon is bad (Out-rolled when bows have dropped), does anyone know how much of a dps gain the HC Brack or even normal BRF weapons would be?

You are not keeping BEast Cleave and Barrage up at all in the fights. Steady Focus uptime is way below desirable as well. Fix these and you'll see your DPS go up
