P3 Hrag DPS help. 10m

Hello fellow locks,

Im posting in hopes of getting some insight from other warlocks on how you do your p3 DPS. Currently im averaging around 36k DPS in the Phase 3 stage of Hrag, I have seen other logs where locks are doing a bit more and i cannot for the life of me figure out what my problem is. First off ill post some logs;

My normal approach is to pray that DMC is procced and use, Demon soul; Felgaurd, Bloodfury, Volcanic Pot. Followed by soul burning the felhunter, Meta, Doomguard. I put up immolation aura and go to town.

I also have, Flickering cowl of the fireflash (H, 391), Fingers of incineration(384), Variable Pulse lightning generator(384), Funeral Pyre. would you equip any of these over my current setup? The reason i dont wear the gloves and head is due to losing 4pc and from my understanding DMC:volcano and Moonwell chalice is my best bet on trinkets.

Finally my last question, Should i wait for bloodlust to pop trinkets, CD's, Doomguard, Meta or wait until after? I'm unsure on how doomgaurd works with lust. Hopefully this isnt too long or too newbish to be asking i'm just stuck and need some HALP! Thank you all in advance.

doomguard doesn't bennefit from lust, but however its better to line your meta etc up with BL for more dps :P

The P3 burn for 10m is not bad at all. We've had attempts where we are down a person right away in P3 and still barely get a 3rd meteor. With everyone up it should be no problem.

Can't check your logs from work - but we were pushing single meteor with me doing 36-40k during p3 in 10m, along with an arcane mage doing around the same, and everyone else around 30.

The bigger difference for us was timing the push, so that rag dropped below 40% just after he starts a world-in-flames. This mostly means stopping dps, and waiting for third seeds in 25m heroic, I think we get around the same number of seed phases when we do 10m too - haven't been in that group for a few weeks.

Since he can't 'stop' till he has cast at least three of the engulfing flames, you can burn him to 36% there - and we would always get at least 37%, which makes p3 much more relaxed affair - when I am in the 10m now, we can do it with doomguard p1 and 4 instead and still make - but we did need it to start with.

Your damage should look something very similar to this http://worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-73...=14764&e=14835 your doomgaurd dmg is very comparable to mine but your personal dmg is just lacking a lot.

I'm wondering if you are moving to much and not casting enough or what. Also if you are going for the 1 meteor push I'd recommend getting a sorrowsong.

Edit: Your corruption uptime is very low aswell along with shadowflame dmg/uptime just those 2 spells alone not being maximized are losing you a lot of dps which i noticed right away.

You want only one meteor for your P4?
Ask all your casters to get the trinket from Siamat (lost city...): Sorrowsong.

My first down I had the Sorrowsong and the volcano but in my opinion you probably should go for sorrowong and variable pulse, or variable pulse and chalice.

I think your hunter and your pal tank are a little short.
And I hope you managed to kill the scions before the last son. That way you can pop BL quickly in P3. (ie immediately)

Thanks for all the input guys i appreciate the tips. that stupid sorrowsong hasnt dropped i plan to have it for next weeks raid for sure.

Sure, sorrowsong is an upgrade but you do not need it. Having success in P3 should not rest on your shoulders alone. Without it you can easely reach 40k dps in p3 and it should be sufficient given your group don't fail. DMV will help your raid do P1 with only 1 trap remaining and P2 with 2 waves of adds while sorrowsong won't. This turns out into 1 or 2 more tries during an evening. You be the judge.

P4 isn't about dps either. It's all about execution.

What you should do : Track your proc and pop Doomguard when MWC is up and as many procs as possible before the first engulfing flame.
Move to your designed location during global cooldowns/demonic leap
Potion during heroism
Stand put the remaining scion between you and rag to hit it with shadowflame and immolation
You can clip a bit corruption during engulfing.
Make a macro if you're in charge of punting a meteor.
Do not get hit by a wave help...

If your guild is stalling the last son during the transition your group should have no trouble killing both scions by the time the transition is over.

Doing anything less than 50k in that phase is bad mm k.

I did 43,6k DPS there. From what I can see, you´re having a little better gear for this phase than I have. Deffinitly keep the setup you´re wearing right now. Mastery is usefull on this fight, since our pet is doing quite a lot of 'passive' damage. Even more for you, since you're an Orc. The only thing I can advice you, is to get a little more haste. Maybe that´ll help. I tried comparing your uptimes vs. mine, though they´re quite similar.

Also, you´re doing not bad at all. It´s also a task of your other fellow DPS to maximize their DPS during this phase. Yes a large majority of the DPS comes from you, however, you can´t do it alone. Your Hunter for example can improve quite a bit. He's deffinitly not pulling enough there, especially for a phase where he can use Killshot. A trick we found usefull is having healers knocking back the meteors. That way DPS don´t have to focus on it and can spend more time DPSing. Try standing in the area between the front and middle Engulving area. That way you have to move even less. Make sure, when you have to move, you either refresh your Corruption or cast a Felflame.

Try to save your shadowflame for engulfing too, clip corruption or fel flame. Wasnt a good try for me but you can check this video, my best trys were on the 50k for p3. I used DMC:V Moonwell, i didn't saw a big upgrade using sorrowsong , it made the fight more difficult because of 1 extra trap on p1 etc.


Healers were responsible for knockback the meteor on p3.
