Items and Rewards

  • Shards of Domination
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Blood Link – The damage and healing amount has been increased at all ranks by 20%.
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Winds of Winter – The amount of damage and healing stored by the Winds has been increased at all ranks by ~45%.
      • Developers’ note: The difference between the three Rune Words for the Shards of Domination system is bigger than we want it to be. We have identified and fixed a bug in Winds of Winter which was preventing some damaging and healing abilities from counting towards its total, and we have retuned Winds of Winter and Blood Link so that the relative power between Rune Word bonuses is more balanced.
  • Jotungeirr, Destiny’s Call will now reset its cooldown at the end of boss encounters.
  • Fixed an issue where Ticking Sack of Terror could trigger more than intended in the presence of multiple trinkets.

Spit Emote Removed on TBC Classic PTR
The /spit emote has been removed on the Burning Crusade Classic PTR. Players can no longer target others with the emote, however they can still spit on the ground.

It is speculated that this change is a result of people spamming /spit on players riding the Reawakened Phase-Hunter mount, the reward for purchasing the Burning Crusade Deluxe Edition.

Lead Game Designer Jeremy Feasel tweeted that he's having a look at cleaning up toxicity in the game, so this could be one of many changes to come.

I seriously wonder if this company will exist the way they do in five years. Especially with the talk of unionization floating around.

Like everything they do is just fucking clueless now. It's so damn destructive I actually wonder if its partly an Activision ploy to flush them into a glorified IP holding house that much quicker.

Absolutely nothing Blizzard does, outside of WoW, is worth Activisions time and funding, paticularly with future projections. That is pretty much bordering on fact these days, now look where WoW is headed, office in turmoil, constantly behind schedule, developers and playerbase that fucking despise each other.

Do you really think it has a bright future of growth, or do you see them making a Murloc-themed match 3 game while they feed the IPs to more capable developers like VV?

You shouldnt promote asmon on frontpage tbh, especially not about this topic. Hes one of the main reasons people started todo this toxic bullshit to begin with.

The players are the problem in this case. It is a group of players abusing /spit to harass anyone who bought a mount. Including using an addon/weakaura to automatically do it on target. They don't have to attempt anything to make it look like the problem is a group of players. It is literally players triggered by the mount/CE that they need to harass anyone that does it.

It has happened before in retail most recently with the sprite darter costume. But retail has a short attention span and nothing major came of it. The classic crowd seems to hold grudge beyond reasonable levels.

This exactly, has nothing to with toxicity, they want those store bought mounts to keep rolling in now and in the future.

However spiting was in the game from the beginning 15 year later it's removed, hmmm

Why give a free pass to people harassing others just because it involves a cash shop item? It has everything to do with toxicity. If people were not using it to be toxic it likely wouldn't even have been thought of by Blizzard as a thing that needed to be removed.

Would be pretty dumb, if the that's the reason. That people were spamming /spit on store mount owners. People will just use a different emote, like /rude. In fact, I have a feeling this might actually encourage people to harass people with store mounts.

But honestly now, it's an emote that's absolutely nothing special. Unless you are some sort of spitting enthusiast, you are one silly person, if your care-o-meter even registers the absence of the emote.

He himself has valid criticisms of the game but they're all wrapped up in exactly the kind of toxicity that eventually blossoms into what's been going on at Blizzard.
Why should he shut up when its likely 100% correct? Virtue signaling is at a all time high, and look at the internal affairs in blizzard. Its all fake. I dont care about wokeness, but the disgusting dishonesty annoys me quite a bit.

Same thing with people quitting wow for "moral" reasons as they use iphones and buy shit from amazon while playing riot games. A LOT of companies are fucking shit holes. All virtue signaling.

Seems they want to create a nontoxic environment, or somewhat nontoxic, like what FFXIV has. As they clearly see that is what players want. In that case WoW has a really really long way to go. This is only one step out of many.

Frankly removing /spit is stupid. It's an online game, which aren't rated by ESRB. Trying to even pretend this is cyberbullying is fucking hilarious.

I can think of a way they could've resolved this without censoring players. Give everyone the mount, in the mail. Every player. Refund everyone who bought it as well.

Oh, but that would impact their precious profits. Can't do that!

That spit weakaura creator just needs to swap /spit with "/me spits on %t".

Absurd fix for an non-existent problem.

People that are offended by others can just "Ignore" them. Problem solved? But alas, they rather remove an emote that's been on the game since the start.

only the weak will be offended by an emote. i would chuckle if someone /spit on me if i had the mount. lol

So many people are being obtuse, ''It's just a mount, who cares?!''.

Shills is not even the word to describe some of you here.

That comment by Asmongold is 100% sarcasm by the way.

/spit is not toxic. If you get offended over /spit you should stay off the internet, because there’s way worse.

What are these ''next steps''? Take out /rude? /fart, /pick? Block any and all interactions outside of Battle.net? AI filters on chat with 5 minute delay? (Dear Blizzard developers, in the unlikely event that you happen to read this post, do NOT take this idea seriously)

Or how about... I don't know, don't make decisions that lead to player resentment? Such as backtracking on this?

They /spit on us. But we can't /spit back on them without flipping the table over and walking away.

It's hard to quantify these things but I would bet my left nut that half of the ''toxicity'' that this game has is directly caused by Blizzards stupid decisions, designs, restrictions and lies. Yes, lies. They lie. A lot.

So spitting on players is the solution? Lol. If you are really that betrayed by Blizzard over their decisions stop playing. Being toxic towards other players is just showing that you want to rage at anyone you can rather then do the one thing that will really show Blizzard.

I will in 5 days when my game time runs out. I would have liked to stay in Classic but they had one, simple job and they fucked that up.

Nah. The people that take the game so seriously that they have to be toxic towards others screwed it up. You literally just gave half of the toxic players in the game a free pass because Blizzard wronged them. Supporting toxicity out of a need of revenge will always be one of the problems.
