Upcoming Shards of Domination Set Bonus Buffs

Items and Rewards

  • Shards of Domination
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Blood Link – The damage and healing amount has been increased at all ranks by 20%.
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Winds of Winter – The amount of damage and healing stored by the Winds has been increased at all ranks by ~45%.
      • Developers’ note: The difference between the three Rune Words for the Shards of Domination system is bigger than we want it to be. We have identified and fixed a bug in Winds of Winter which was preventing some damaging and healing abilities from counting towards its total, and we have retuned Winds of Winter and Blood Link so that the relative power between Rune Word bonuses is more balanced.
  • Jotungeirr, Destiny’s Call will now reset its cooldown at the end of boss encounters.
  • Fixed an issue where Ticking Sack of Terror could trigger more than intended in the presence of multiple trinkets.

Spit Emote Removed on TBC Classic PTR
The /spit emote has been removed on the Burning Crusade Classic PTR. Players can no longer target others with the emote, however they can still spit on the ground.

It is speculated that this change is a result of people spamming /spit on players riding the Reawakened Phase-Hunter mount, the reward for purchasing the Burning Crusade Deluxe Edition.

Lead Game Designer Jeremy Feasel tweeted that he's having a look at cleaning up toxicity in the game, so this could be one of many changes to come.

I'm curious why the "nuke it" option was the option Blizzard went with instead of, say, giving players the ability to filter out emotes they don't like. Filtering is more consistent with the preexisting player experience than "nuke it" for all. One has been able to ignore players since the game came out. One is also able to completely leave a channel. (I was rarely in Trade for the last 3 to 4 years I played the game.) One can choose to ignore guild invites. And, curiously, for all the years the game has been out, one has never been able to ignore emotes. I've always found that strange, even back in 2007 when I first started playing.

And I told you, you need to ask those that it's upsetting why it is. You know damned well why it's problematic though. It's toxic. It didn't just become toxic, it always has been.

It has only been removed from the TBC-C PTR. Live TBC-C and Retail have not had it removed yet. There is no need to be overly dramatic by saying it is the entire planet when it is still on a test realm currently. Unless of course you are being overly sensitive to a trivial emote...

You think the only way to complain is by being overly dramatic?

If the house isn't burning blizzard isn't turning. We've seen plenty of it.

Ahh. Gotcha. You projected the way you complain onto something I said. It is entirely possible to complain with out drama. The difference between being constructive and not being constructive.

How about half naked female characters running around with some rather obscene and offensive names/?? Is it really necessary to name a character Mammogram????? And yes I would /spit on anyone with a foul name or an idiot who manages to pull half the continent on you, then drop aggro

Considering people only post meters in chat without being asked in order to shame the fuck out of people, that'd be a welcome change.

Pretty sure any emote that gets abused and misused will be removed eventually... it's usually what happens with things that get abused.
To me it's pretty common sense that if you want to keep something you shouldn't give a reason to have it removed.

I don't really give 2 shits if it's there or not, but it's pretty easy to see why it was removed.

What probably happened was that TBC players started asking for refunds because people spit on them. That caused a panic at Blizzard and them taking immediate action to protect their micro transactions (or macro transactions more like it).

They're not removing it from retail because players on store mounts don't get spit on there.

I don’t know if I like this system. It doesn’t drop in mythic + and you can’t really add a domination socket to a m+ item, which forces you into mythic raiding where I don’t really want to be for now. Then the whole set bonus works only in raid and single shards work in dungeon so that’s fair enough to not farm them at all. I guess for a mage it would be great to have 3 unholy shards, still I’m not quite sure how it works or if it’s really worth sacrificing so much item level.

Just fire idiots who mismanage the company like Feasel the Weasel, and the game will start to improve drastically. Sensitive crybullies shouldn't be running a multi-billion industry.

No emote is useful if we go by this logic.

    People still do that?

Man, I have not seen that a lot the last 5 years. Happened a lot in the good old day though.

Anyway, we are discussing the shard of domination right? I got the 3set blood today as dps, it was allright I thought after the buff, then someone pointed out that the buff doesnt go live before wednesday. Shall not be so bad afterall then. I beat one of the tanks on healing on Kel'Thuzad tonight lol. That blood link was healing quite a bit.

Just noticed I beat both tanks on Tarragrue(I did have heart seeker tho) as well lmao. 20% better on wednesday and not halfway upgraded the 3 shards either.

That is actually true though. All emotes have little value. Some have more then others since they come with animations, sound, or more then just a text line. This is of course different on RP realms.
