Items and Rewards

  • Shards of Domination
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Blood Link – The damage and healing amount has been increased at all ranks by 20%.
    • [With weekly maintenance in each region] Winds of Winter – The amount of damage and healing stored by the Winds has been increased at all ranks by ~45%.
      • Developers’ note: The difference between the three Rune Words for the Shards of Domination system is bigger than we want it to be. We have identified and fixed a bug in Winds of Winter which was preventing some damaging and healing abilities from counting towards its total, and we have retuned Winds of Winter and Blood Link so that the relative power between Rune Word bonuses is more balanced.
  • Jotungeirr, Destiny’s Call will now reset its cooldown at the end of boss encounters.
  • Fixed an issue where Ticking Sack of Terror could trigger more than intended in the presence of multiple trinkets.

Spit Emote Removed on TBC Classic PTR
The /spit emote has been removed on the Burning Crusade Classic PTR. Players can no longer target others with the emote, however they can still spit on the ground.

It is speculated that this change is a result of people spamming /spit on players riding the Reawakened Phase-Hunter mount, the reward for purchasing the Burning Crusade Deluxe Edition.

Lead Game Designer Jeremy Feasel tweeted that he's having a look at cleaning up toxicity in the game, so this could be one of many changes to come.

What are they going to do, block every single emote that has negative connotations?
They will most likely put in restrictions to any emote that's being abused. So if people don't want an emote to be gone or restricted, don't take it upon yourself or rally others to abuse whatever emote you care for.

    I can see this happen.

''Patch 12.2: Now requires you to have 4 Battle.net members in your party to be able to link 3rd party addon data in chat''.

The emotes are designed to annoy someone. That's their intent and people are using them as intended.

So many... not particularly bright people in this thread have this so backwards.

You can still harass people and take it to far. Also everyone with a Blizzard account is a battle.net member. The word you were looking for is friend. But hey you know what is bright and what is not, right?

You know what I meant, don't be obtuse.

Don't get angry over mistakes. Amusing that someone that thinks harassment can't happen with an emote gets upset over being corrected.

Now you're a clairvoyant as well, ha.

No, you were being annoying. Just like people - an absolute minority of a minority - who /spit on people.

You are the one that wanted me to be clairvoyant by saying I should know what you mean even when you make a mistake. Why do you equate having a mistake correct with harassing people that bought a mount? Wow.

Apparently anyone who dares to post a meter unasked is 100% doing it to shame/harass, no other explanation allowed.

Take note I'm not stating my belief on how it should be handled... I really don't care about the spit emote.
just saying that considering this emote was changed due to abuse... it's safe to say that if you abuse any other emote it most likely will change as well..

Though I do not think "annoying others" were in the design docs when they came up with emotes... Can't say I have ever used it or seen it been used to annoy someone. Can't relate to that.

    Good!

For too long, Blizzard has allowed an Asshole Parade to march through all of their games. I'm glad they're talking about doing something about it.

Imagine being surprised that you're being targeted in a version of WoW that was meant to never have micro-transactions like mounts, because you run around on your 40$ mount.

To be fair it is no different then the tcg loot cards and the spectral tiger which were present in the original TBC. However it is never right to take your anger out in players when it is Blizzard you are angry at.

WoW is going to be the lamest game ever after ActiBlizz finishes sterilizing it. People are gonna claim they're being bullied because someone /spits on them? Fuckin' turn off emotes, if it's that big of a trigger. Holy fuck is this kind of shit cringey. We need to stop catering to society's lowest common denominators.

Sure do. That is why toxicity has no place.

imagine actually caring someone else bought a mount on re-release of a 15 year old game.

By your standards, when a new Death Knight character makes his way to Orgrimmar, the NPC's in the game get pretty mean... They throw trash, spit on him, tell him to leave, curse him for all the bad things he has done. Should all of that be removed too? The NPC's are now bullying that player, and being toxic towards them. The game itself is now being toxic to the players. That's not acceptable is it? A player, in a fantasy MMO game, is being bullied, by the NPC's in the game, because he killed other NPC's in the game.

Do you see how fucking stupid that sounds?

Verbally abusing someone via chat, is FAR more toxic than an emote.
So now you use an in game storytelling moment that shows NPCs reaction to the player character, in story, as that of prejudice, hate, and misunderstanding to show hate towards the in game class (not the player themself) as comparison to people being openly toxic to the player, not anything in game.
Your example equates to: since the movie 12 Years a Slave exists then it’s okay to call poc the N word.
It doesn’t matter if something is more toxic. The fact that it is toxic at all is the problem, and Blizzard is taking steps against it due to the fact it was used to target a specific group of people. The fact it was specifically used to target people is what brought all this up.
Also, last I checked, you can absolutely report people for toxic and abusive behavior, not just for /spit.

Given the stance FF has on toxicity it is hilarious you think Blizzard attempting the same will kill the game while making FF grow. Even Asmogold stated WoW is toxic and he was a large source of it including the whole spit emote fiasco. Don't you find it funny how quickly his act changes when the game he is now streaming for doesn't allow his old persona?

that's the thing though; it's not about the store mounts. it's never been about the store mounts - if it was about the store mounts then you would see it being removed in retail as well, where there are a lot more store mounts than TBC. also, I am curious as to why it's only been disabled on the PTR - I am fairly certain they could test and hotfix something like that in without the need of a patch or testing on the PTR
