User Interface and Accessibility

  • Group Finder Improvements
    • Accounts now require an attached Battle.net Authenticator to post custom text when listing a group for Dungeons, Raids, or Rated PvP activities. All players may still search for and join others’ groups.
      • Developers’ note: A Group Finder that’s full of advertisements bothers us as much as it does you, but a challenge we’ve faced in trying to eliminate those ads is that they are often posted by compromised accounts or other throwaway accounts, such that penalties incurred by in-game reporting have not proven to be an effective deterrent. And regardless, relying on reports still means that some number of players have their experience disrupted by the spam before it gets reported. The Battle.net Authenticator is available for mobile devices and is a simple and convenient way to secure your World of Warcraft account, but if you prefer not to use it for whatever reason, you will still be able to post groups that will have descriptions auto-populated (e.g. based on raid name and difficulty selected in UI dropdowns, or derived from the Mythic Keystone currently in your bags). Our goal is to clean up the Group Finder while trying to minimize the inconvenience to ordinary players.

Equality will never happen, for many reasons... so why raise our children to be hyper sensitive? We need to prepare them for the reality.
    Look at this "social media" generation... most of them do not know how to react or behave in a real life face to face situation, they are completely overwhelmed because nobody prepared them for it. It's a totally different environment sitting at home, in your little bubble and texting/writing online when nobody knows who you are. Outside of your home, you need to be much more resilient because the world is not very pretty.

    Men and women being different, there are a lot of jokes coming out of it and most of them are very funny. The problem is with how an individual takes them.
    Some of them are racist and offensive but some are not, unless you are a person that chooses to be offended out of everything, almost; just to be "special".

    This mentality of nitpicking and interpretation will only bring unhappiness to the world. One needs to be able to see irony, sarcasm etc and not take it personal.

    I always found these references in WoW funny and I think the game will be a much blander place without them.
    I personally think removing them is ridiculous and does not help anyone/anything.

    Men and women being different, there are a lot of jokes coming out of it and most of them are very funny. The problem is with how an individual takes them.
    Some of them are racist and offensive but some are not, unless you are a person that chooses to be offended out of everything, almost; just to be "special".

    This mentality of nitpicking and interpretation will only bring unhappiness to the world. One needs to be able to see irony, sarcasm etc and not take it personal.

    I always found these references in WoW funny and I think the game will be a much blander place without them.
    I personally think removing them is ridiculous and does not help anyone/anything.
    Jokes are to be taken seriously in the context that they show what you think is okay to make fun of. In the above, the messenger thinks it's fully justifiable to insult men by comparing them to women in a way that also insults the capability of women.

    A joke is never just a joke even though we think so. Taking that to the logical extreme would mean that we also would have to accept someone saying something horribly bigoted that flies like a lead balloon and then follow it up with, "just a joke" when they see the less than enthusiastic reaction they had hoped for.

    First off, they didn't say NEVER. They clearly said at the time that it was too late to change the entire game without delaying the expansion further. Which is more than fair of a point, considering they're dedicating an entire patch to it.

    Second off, literally nothing I said had anything to do with "defending". I get nowadays a blind rage towards Blizzard is all the rage, but the amount of lashing out at other posters just because they don't DARE to agree fully is just crazy. The other poster literally claimed Blizzard is doing "nothing" to fix the game at all. So I pointed out how that was wrong. So where does your response even fit into this aside from a random attempt to bash Blizzard out of hate? You're not disagreeing that they are adding fixes in 9.1.5. You're just complaining that it should have been there sooner which wasn't even the discussion anyway.

    Booo for the hippogryph. I don't care about another one, I wish they'd have at least went with one of the many storm drake reskins, maybe a nightmare version.
    As for the new transmog, I'd take that over the fugly clown costume last time any day, so I guess that at least is an upgrade.

    It's a start. You can only be reminded of something, or even discuss it if the word or meaning exists in the first place. That's the whole concept of Newspeak.     i dont understand why blizz just dont let us upgrade form say rank 8 (ilvl 233) to the highest rank available to that toon in 1 go for vp it cant be THAT hard to put in, can it?

    The current process

    3. Owner of the account finds out it has been hacked and contacts Customer Service to get it back.
    4. Owner gets it back and attaches an authenticator to it to avoid a repeat.

    The new process

    3. Use it to announce boosting services.
    4. Owner of the account finds out it has been hacked and contacts Customer Service to get it back.
    5. Owner gets it back and attaches an authenticator to it to avoid a repeat.

    Nothing has changed other than adding an additional step. The only thing that would work is the solution that AB refuses to pay for which is to hire people to go through the reports manually.

    Because something can be something even if the definition never existed in the first place. All that happens is that people become aware. Take Predator (1987), you can watch it as just an awesome action flick. If you look at it through the lens of the concept of toxic masculinity it becomes one of the most progressive movies ever that makes social commentary on the masculinity presented in movies at the time. This was unintentional as the director, John McTiernan's next project was Die Hard who changed the concept of the action hero, and you can see the preliminary concept in Predator.

    Wrong. For example, dark humor. It's supposed to be funny because it's so out of place and noone thinks like that, that it shocks us.
    As everything, it depends on the person, and not everything someone says match what they think.

    My Storage is "Gigantique" Name changed from "My Sack is "Gigantique"" to "My Storage is "Gigantique"".
    What's the point of this achievement even being ingame now? The whole point was because it was a funny name.

    Well quite a lot of their gear looks and behaves like body paint so if this results in more armor being 3dimensional, I'm all for it.

    What do suggest then? We physically go to Blizzard HQ with a govenrment approved ID to connect? Because anything else is hackable. Heck, even that is.

    The thing is making it harder/more expensive without bothering the player, and using an authenticator goes in that way: a normal player sees no difference, while the spammer is forced to get a new phone number is banned.
