    • Developers' note: With the launch of Shadowlands, we reduced the maximum number of targets that several abilities could hit specifically to address a few gameplay problems related to pulling a large number of enemies in dungeons. Our intention was to reduce the effectiveness of burst AOE buttons against large target counts (i.e. 15-20 enemies) while also increasing their effectiveness against fewer targets (e.g. 3-5 enemies) and communicating that strength clearly in the tooltips. The abilities that remained “uncapped” were generally ones that offered lower damage over a longer period of time (e.g. Blizzard or Consecration). Along with other changes, we set out to move away from “pull as many enemies as possible, use all your cooldowns and delete them” as the predominant strategy across various forms of content.

We’ve received a lot of feedback that these abilities not hitting enemies in their range in any way creates a feel problem for WoW combat but is also an issue for trivial encounters like farming legacy content. For many of the abilities that underwent the change from uncapped to a strict target cap in Shadowlands, we’re converting the damage to be reduced beyond 5 or 8 targets (e.g. the ability will deal full damage against 5 targets, then reduced damage to each additional target beyond 5). This means that while the overall damage done by the ability increases with the number of targets, the individual damage done to each target will decrease. This solution means these abilities and their relative classes will still have a very strong niche against small packs of enemies.

If you subbed today for timewalking, which is coming in December, then you just wasted money lol. Regardless this ain't bringing me back. Once they iterate on core base classes and make them better, have the QoL at start of expansions, and get rid of the borrowed power systems that Ion loves so much then maybe I will consider resubbing and trying the game again.

I hope for those that see this as a big reason to return do actually enjoy themselves, but for me I haven't played WoW since January and its the first time I have unsubbed in 16 years. this isn't going to make me return. The game is too far gone for me at this point, its kinda gone in a direction that hasn't appealed to me. And its sad, because this game has been a huge part of my life since 22 year old me in 2005 picked this game up and got hooked.

Maybe that' the problem and not the game ? Not a personal attack. But I really think a LOT of the wow anger comes from this. The game never was perfect, never will be perfect. But after 15 years people expect more and more of what is just a freaking video game. It can't fulfill your life, that's just too much to ask and yet way too many people expect wow to somehow fill all their available time.

Can wow be better ? Yes obviously. But the community's problem is far deeper than just wow's quality.

Oh no offence taken, I agree... I do feel its more the fault of outgrowing though. I haven't blamed WoW for leaving, or the devs, its on me... I just felt like my time had come. Thats why I don't feel like anything they could do could bring be back, because I am too far gone by that point of return. Not the games fault, just how it is.

I'll consider resubbing if they finally add the red Warrior T10 belt. They added the red boots during Legion, but ignored the belt which I've always felt was a joke at our expense. I will continue taking it personally.

The last time we had tier sets and tier bonuses to play with. I feel like the game lost a LOT gameplay wise with the death of tier set bonuses. You're stuck with a spec that plays the same for the duration of an entire expansion. Apparently tier sets are too expensive to produce, even with millions of subs and a cash shop.

Blizzard: So we are gonna go ahead and remove the aoe target cap for pretty much everyone.

    Outlaw rogues in the meanwhile

So you would re sub if you get a red belt?

I am not trying to pick on you or anything, this is one of the reasons why blizzard gets away with shitty patch after patch, expansion after expansion is because players will continue to play or sub if they get mounts, or pointless crap, or in this case a red belt.

sigh this game is never going to get any better then it is right now.

Good changes, pretty late in the expansion though. I literally bitched about conduit energy from the start along with tons of other people...

I'm sure they sold plenty of kitty cat mounts though...

Too little and most importantly too late. After coming back to WoW to check out the new expansion, it was just a chore. I do not have as much time as in my earlier days, when I was still young. But there are so many chores in the game, so many progression systems, so many uninteresting items to farm - it's just not fun anymore.

I just want something to do for like 8 to 10 hours a week at max and not a 2nd full time job while having the sense of being able to not fall to far behind.
I hate the many borrowed power systems.
    I do not need legendaries.
I hate the huge itemlevel jumps within one raid tier due to the huge amount of difficulties. Power gap is so huge nowadays already after 1 raid tier, it's ridiculous.
I dont want to be (although indirectly) forced to farm 1000 different things each week.

I loved the simple systems in BC, WotLK, Cata and so on. Basically everything before Legion, where the whole super grind started which made me quit.
    I loved sockets.
I loved Tier sets and I dont understand why they were taken away from us.
I loved hit and expertise caps, because it made the gearing game a little more interesting.
I actually loved reforging (although it was just using an addon), because it made subpar pieces at least viable.
I loved the alt friendlyness of earlier expansions.
I loved the badge system which helped me progressing my character in a controlled manner.
I didn't mind that HC dungeons became a faceroll in WotLK after a while - for me it was actually quite fun to blast through as fast as possible. I had my challenge in the raids.

There were so many things I enjoyed in the earlier expansions. For me there was always enough content. I don't need a game, that keeps me busy for 5 hours each day. I just want to spend some spare time in the game enjoying the world, the story and the PvE content. Add some raiding, some dungeons and I have more than enough to do. And if I am done I could still play an alt or use some time to play other games as well (god forbid!).

I have the feeling, that this is also partly due to the community, which complained about too little content. I never understood these complains. Spending a 'healthy' amount of time in the game never would lead to a serious content drought. You are finished with everything? Enjoy something else instead. There is a world outside WoW that's enjoyable too. Come back when there is new content and in the meantime, just enjoy the easy farm raids with your raid group.

    So no actual content?

Can't wait for this game to be a ghost town in 2 and a half weeks, for... reasons, yeah, let's call it that... reasons...

So basically, after 2 weeks, the patch is over. The only "content" is legion timewalking.

Cosmetics are no longer exclusive to Covenants. Once you unlock them, you may use them all on any character regardless of their chosen Covenant.
Does that mean you are not required to have 80 Renown on the Covenant that provides the Transmog while you are on a different one as it was communincated before? Can anyone confirm?

Should of just made mage tower tied to every time walking rather then twice a year. Still it is more a hotfix then a patch.

This is getting pathetic Blizzard. This is at least the 3rd expansion where they were adamant about how things were going to be in the beginning, only to do a 180 mid-expansion. Hopefully this community led program can make some consistent changes and what the players actually want. You think you do but you don't...

Also in same camp, recall waking up at 4am on the day the EU servers launched to grab all the good names and log in... its that nostalgia that kept drawing me back... i even found the guild i been in for almost as long as the game was not the guild i remember, sure a few of the old guard are still there every day logging in.. but.. its just not the same, not up at 3am on TS with some one tanking Strat shaman for a laugh knowing we had work the next day having a great time. I dont have time or interest, i seen it all before. So i left the guild and the game, but keep checking back like your self... i mean you never know right

"AOE cap removal" isn't the most clear explanation of what's happening lol.
I would say AOE cap restrictions raised

So the only "new" content won't even be out for another month? That is hilarious.

    Everyone complaining about no content
Me happy because of QoL changes to the game I'm going to play regardless of content
