Patch 2.5.4 - Wrath of the Lich King Classic Interface Files
Blizzard just pushed the first build of 2.5.4 (the new TBC Classic phase) to the patch servers and it has the first hints that seem to confirm WotLK Classic is on its way.

The Classic clients separate interface files per "expansion" into separate folders, e.g. "Interface_Vanilla" for 1.x files and "Interface_TBC" for 2.x. This patch is the first that adds some files in the "Interface_Wrath" folder that have changes specific to WotLK, e.g. Deathknight support for the character creation screen as well as the blue buttons that are used on the login/character selection screens.

These files have likely been added as the various WoW clients use a shared code/content base, it is highly unlikely these files are going to be used in 2.5.4 and are likely for the WotLK Classic 3.4.x client instead.

Code:
Interface_Wrath\FrameXML\Bindings.xml
Interface_Wrath\GlueXML\GlueButtons.xml
Interface_Wrath\GlueXML\CharacterCreate.xml
Interface_Wrath\GlueXML\CharacterCreate.lua

Cant wait to see people try to shit all over this because they cannot accept people liking things different then them. Its my favorite part of every classic release. THE TWO sides that think they have to be absolutely right and righteous in their quest to prove what they like is all that matters.

Northrend was great from a feel perspective, nice zones, nice dungeons, cool theme, but gameplaywise Classic is superior.

It's happening! I mean it was obvious but still.

LFG should be removed from Classic entirely. If people complain about LFG not being there, they can just play retail.

And why exactly do you think WotLK is going to be any different????? Hint: its not.

WoW has been doing the exact same formula for almost 16 years now. Honestly, WotLK is probably going to be even more boring for people that have been playing the classic timeline. Naxx yet again and the single worst raid tier in the history of wow, ToGC, both in the same expansion. Yikes.

I am far more interested in whats going to happen after WotLK. Everyone knew this was coming, it was the height of WoW's popularity. I am guessing they just keep things rolling along with Cataclysm, even if its not well regarded as an expansion. Im sure enough people will play it to be "worth it" from Blizzards perspective to slap together a few servers considering the games already made.

Nope, LFG is mandatory for WoTLK. If you don't like it, don't play WoTLK

Making a classic release for every expansion will just make all of them a ghost town, I mean season of mastery is already a deserted and I am sure that the remaining TBC realms will also just be like that.
I agree; the allure of Classic is to play the old world with the old dungeons. What would be really cool is if they added Classic to the Chromie Time - so you could level in Cata Classic or Classic Classic. That might be difficult but hell they have the ability to transform zones at the click of a button via a Bronze dragon so why not have the ability to change to pre-Cata zones as well? Same with dungeons, have that same NPC inside the instance

Except for all specs beeing viable, more than 2 button rotations, RDF, way more alt friendly, DUAL EFFIN SPEC and the list goes on.

What gets me personally fired up is that it's the only way i can play Explosive shot survival hunter wich i miss dearly.

Because I played a lot on Wotlk private servers recently and had a blast playing them. As to why I enjoy Wotlk more despite being similar to TBC, I wrote a comment about that already.

I am legit surprised they haven't just done that with the old world...

boring af , this is the most expansion that been burned by private servers and people will finish lich king in 2 hours . thats my opinion only , and the pvp does never feel like tbc and vanilla where you feel the classical feeling . paladins are fast , mage can stun , rogue can hit mutiliate from anywhere , shaman has sprint . its just no the expansion

It’s probably difficult but I hope one day they will.

i think some people just chase nostalgia, for a time when things were maybe better. Fun for me is maybe not fun for you and vice versa, i don't think that is the main issue though.

The main issue is Blizzard taking advantage of a loyal fan base who have filled their vault with gold. They could easily have made these classic remakes totally free to play (no sub required) and brought more people to the game without ripping people off that already paid and subbed for that content already.

I have no issue with rehashing old content when it is free, i do have an issue with making people pay to play it.

Awesome, it will be great to replay the golden age of WoW, instead of the hot garbage that is Shadowlands and whatever comes next.

What do you want them to do? Stay in TBC forever? Also obviously the raids will get cleared at a lightning speed, imagine you have to sit an exam you know all the answers to, do you expect to do bad? No.

People need to realise they can't hold to nostalgia forever. These things aren't "new" anymore for most people.

Let's not forget the first tier was cleared very fast to the people who managed to hit max level first. Sure there's the immortal, sart 3 drakes and that malygos achievement but they weren't overly difficult either.

I'd be more interested in seeing Yogg+0 pre nerfs, but knowing Blizz they may just nerf it before it's released.

It is amazing to people are mad about Classic still doing strong... with their best argument 'ITS JUST NOSTALGIA LOL'.

Nostalgia will crush you hard. Servers will be ghost towns in a few weeks.

Yeah, that's going to be absolute shit, especially as most servers are 1 sided. They should just make it a BG with a 3 hour cooldown to queue.

Definitely .. just look at how TBC is doing ... 17k guilds raiding t6? that's literally like no one is playing.

The TBC raids so far were actually very easy as well on their own, however the prep requirements and the required setups (fuck shamans) just made it quite hard and tedious to manage.

Basically, Wotlk is an easier TBC (because of the many QoL changes) with better class design and I really like that.
I feel pretty much the same. I didn't play much TBC Classic though, I got bored quickly. It might be the same with WotLK Classic too, but there is only one way to find out! It is definitely the expansion that left the biggest impression on me, but that's mainly because Northrend was a blast and the Arthas/LK lore is/was cool in my opinion. And then you have Ulduar and ICC, heck even the Naxxramas remake was still kinda fun.
