Patch 9.2.5 - Dark Iron Dwarf Heritage Quest Preview
Patch 9.2.5 adds an additional heritage quest chain for Dark Iron Dwarves, ending with a mount reward Grimhowl's Face Axe and unique Dark Iron-themed weapon transmogs Arsenal: Lavaforge Armaments.

Requirements

Quest Chain Summary
  • The chain begins in Shadowforge City. You are tasked with finding the person that Anvil-Thane Thurgaden lost his weapon blueprints to in the Grim Guzzler.
  • There you find Strongarm Jarden. You must defeat her in either a brawl or drinking match to get the plans. This starts a new quest to collect items scattered around the city.
  • Bringing the items to Thurgaden will then have you help him forge them, rewarding the Arsenal: Lavaforge Armaments.
  • Thurgaden uses the extra materials to forge armor for Grimhowl, one of Kasea's hounds. You bring it to her and she has you bond with Grimhowl by petting, playing, and feeding it. You are then rewarded with the Grimhowl's Face Axe mount.







*Note* The staff and two-handed mace are the same model.

    The shield model view... :yikes: I hope the arm going through the shield doesn't make it to live.

    Dark Iron Dorfs are rounding up rather cool. I love their aesthetics, I hope we see them take a more frontal role for at least a patch. The game is missing an awe inspiring war machine.

    Are those transmogs Dark Iron Dwarf bound?

    AFAIK they are NOT race restricted, so you can use them on any race (not 100% sure if horde can use it).

    On the PTR you can transmog them as Horde but idk. I kinda doubt that will stick.

    It doesn't clip like that in-game fortunately.

    I love the Dark Iron but have no interest in leveling an Ally just to unlock them. Fingers crossed the AR prerequisites are removed come DF.

    My main is a DID priest right now.. can't wait to finish that quest line and get those transmogs :-)

    How nice of them to give alliance players a questline too, even if its just basically running around in a cirlce. At least the transmogg things are cool.

    whats the point with that long handle on two handed weapons if your hands are that far up, it looks wierd when you swing the weapon.

    Gotta get the achievement on a newly created (post 9.2.5) DID though, right? Or did I misread that?

    I don't exactly know what you mean. Just use the mole machine and get to shadowforge city. There's a < 5 min quest for the weapon transmogs.
