If they've done this for just one race, imagine what they'll do for the older races

Apparently the tech for Dracthyr will be used to update the other races, it's just going to take time, supposedly.

If the base body model comes with 'armor' attachments, how does ... gear armor display? What about clipping?

It's hard to put a finger on it. These Dracthyr don't even have fur, so how could it be that they look so much like furries? I think it's largely because the model looks a lot like a person in a suit. This is something that the other player models don't have. Not even the Pandaren and Worgen look as furry-like like as the Dracthyr. This is largely because Worgen and Pandaren have a posture and anatomy that firmly sets them apart from anything human.

This thread alone already shows several great examples of humanoid dragons that don't have this creepy costume vibe to them.

And what's wrong with furries? Nothing I guess. It's a hobby, or a fetish, whatever, doesn't matter. None of anyone's business. But it does feel like they've become part of a game that originally didn't have them. And I can't shake the feeling that this is either intentional, or designed by someone who can't help themselves and has all their previous professional experience in designing furry costumes.

Their human counterparts have the option for female-looking characters wit beards.

Not an issue. Dragons can be whatever they want their humanoid form to look like. That's established. Make it drag, make it camp, if there's one race that gets to do it, it would be the dracthyr.

But at least then don't make their actual dragon-form, their true form, the form that feels like they put on a giant dragon suit.

These all look amazing. And most importantly, they don't look like someone at convention.

    Just like the Saurok:

All that effort on a crazy model when they had this one to actually build on…..

I still think they look out of place somehow, it just doesn't look Warcraft.

Personally, I think it's very subpar anthropomorphic representation of Warcraft dragons. The main issue is the form factor of the body/head is wildly off. I have no idea how it's not glaringly obvious to their team.

I'm guessing it's one of those situations where people internally are afraid to be honest with the team that made them due to social pressures.

Another likelihood is that they're using an existing skeleton/model and too cheap and lazy to make one from scratch to do it right.

Even if you're someone that likes the Dracthyr, it's hard to denying they really missed their mark by how polarizing they are in the community.

Last time I saw these models, there was a "body type 2" with boobs model as well. What happened?

Think about it like this. If they removed the "male" and "female" choice to switch them to "body 1" and "body 2" in order to be more inclusive to non-binary people, what about the people that want to be represented by the choices of "male" and "female". Isn't that option taken away from them?

Adding pronouns is a different thing entirely, that's more options. Removing male and female from the character creation screen isn't.

Doesn't really matter if you want to select "male" or "female." Make your own game lmao
