Did they seriously make 50-60 more? I was happy with the changes before, but I have like 12-15 characters at level 50 I couldn't get through SL on.

I was waiting for someone else to comment on that. A 70-75% nerf to plus 1-2%. I couldn't believe it myself.

60-70 doesn't look so bad in comparison but it's weird go from needing 350k to needing 190k. 59-60 should end at like 185k or something.

but it'll take less time to level 1-60.

    right?

Probably. Overall required XP to level 60 is also less. The increases are fairly tiny and will likely not make a noticeable difference, the reductions are much more impactful.

    Yeah that part is great!

Unless all your characters are 50+ lol

    Ah well.

Really they didn't at all - at least not noticeably. More went up than down but really when added up it is almost exactly the same in the end. Rounding the numbers (laziness) I only got a small difference between old and new. (edit: was more than a couple k but still not a huge difference)

Weird to need so much for 60 than for 61 though.

Changes below 50 should be noticeably faster however.

I havent done the math but at first glance its not clear if the overall xp is lower or higher, the big -xp % at at the rly tiny xp numbers and the 1-2% increases are at the bigger total xp numbers, wouldnt surprise me if this was just a rebalance and nothing actualy changed overall in the time from 1 to cap

Frist change was BEAUTIFUL. This 1? Nope. Shit. Crap.

Tho, I believe its a bug, or just something for pre patch period. So they don't let us level 50-60 chars for free.

    59-60 can't require more exp than 60-61.

I bet they will give us "first change" (which makes 50-60 lvling req ~50-60% less exp).

    It's a total decrease from 1-60 by 2.9% (4,853,450XP to 4,742,270XP, 111,100XP difference) and an increase of 0.7% from 50-60 (2,689,460XP to 2,708,565XP, 19,105XP difference).

If you're leveling through dungeons, 3% less total XP isn't noticable. Increase of 0,7% from 50-60 also isn't noticable, that's like doing a sidequest or 1 world quest. If you level open world by doing quests it will be noticable because 92,075XP less from 1-50 is like 6 quests or so. But for most people time to level from 1-60 or 50-60 will stay the same as today.

Previously they changed total XP required from 1-60 to 3. something million XP which was huge (somwhere along the lines of 30% less total XP) but with the current numbers leveling takes the same amount of time but you get early levels faster to unlock more points for the talent trees, which is necessary. Warrior for example gets a rage sepnder at like lvl 15 or so and around level 20-25 you'll have some abilities to prioritize and figure out a rotation. Unlock things to play with faster but the leveling as a whole takes the same amount of time.

You have to remember, that quests and mobs at specific levels are giving specific amounts of XP. Also, the faster you level up, that earlier you can do higher level content that nets more XP from mobs and quests.
Now, who is going to calculate with quest levels and their XP rewards how much faster leveling from 1 to 50 will be? xD

Btw, lets take the gold dust quest in Elwyn at level 5 to 6, which nets 200 XP and say all quests at this level are around 200 XP. For the reduced amount of XP needed you would need to do 4 quests less for going from 5 to 6.

Those numbers from 60-70 are not in any way final. Their focus right now is getting all the quests and new zones working properly. They will do a XP numbers pass later as that has the lowest priority in the news zones.

I will still always say once you have jumped through their hoops of leveling one character all other characters on that realm and faction should be able to be instant leveled to max level since the leveling experience is no longer part of the game experience it is just a chore to get to the actual game.

That's a major change to the 50->60 xp from earlier builds, where that was reduced up to 90%. Across the board now it's just a smidge lower than on live.

So if you were hoping to wait for Dragonflight and much more easily level alts at 50 to 60 then instead of now (and faster than the recent +50% buff), that would appear to be out the window. But I guess we'll see if the Dragonflight pre-event has some sort of XP catch-up thrown in.

Wouldn't read too much into this atm, they will probably change it 5 more times before release.

Level 50 xp should be around 100k a level and then go up to 180k, when 190k is needed for level 61. But i would take the xp table from a few weeks ago too. Then i could level up all my level 50 chars within 2 legion invasions.

For the first XP nerf proposed I did a quick numbers check and it takes:

Currently: 4,464,725 XP to hit level 60.
Proposed: 1,783,080 XP to hit level 60.
This constitutes a 60.94% drop in total required XP.

The same math was performed for the newer numbers:

Currently: 4,464,725 XP to hit level 60.
Proposed: 4,478,845 XP to hit level 60.
This constitutes a 1.88% increase in total required XP.

Additionally, I ran the numbers on 51-60 vs 61-70 using the newest numbers proposed:

51-60: 3,920,620 XP required to hit level 60.
61-70: 2,708,565 XP required to hit level 70.
This constitutes a 30.915% higher XP requirement to hit 60 than 70.

However, the caveat to this is that we don't know how they will scale quest XP to fit their newer model.
