That sounds like it's probably something hanging up on your end tbh.

Unless you already tried restarting and force closing processes

Somehow I'm unsurprised that this game doesn't work despite their pre-patch and everything. Typical AAA Dev.

Almost like things go south quickly when people decide to be petty children and DDoS servers, yeah.

But sure, blame the devs and not the idiots who love to screw over servers

I got about 10 games in tonight before getting kicked during a match, Battle Pass progression didn't seem too bad though I'd rather it wasn't there to start with.

They deserve some blame for not being prepared for something they knew could happen.

can anyone confirm - does progress made in one region (placement matches, battle pass gains) carry over to another region?
ex : was able to log into Asia for a few hours, tomorrow will the progress follow my account into NA ?

I can confirm now - they counted towards NA progress.

That's the go to cop out nowadays, skimp on launch and peaks as the popularity will inevitably wane and blame it on ddos.

Funny how nothing else battle.net related was having issues.

That's not how DDoS attacks work.

Th...that's most certainly not how server attacks work lol.

Or are you surprised that there's no queue for Retail while Classic has queues

Guess the patching process from Overwatch 1 to 2 was not a seamless one.

Updating with a simple patch can be tricky.

    Yea, classic apologist right here.

Its easy to blame ddos than say we can't be arsed to provide the necessary facilities for a smooth launch when we expect player numbers to drop off sharply after the first week.

It's like phoning in sick to work when you just can't be arsed getting out of bed.

Incase you're not being intentionally obtuse infrastructure is shared amongst their aspects of the battle.net platform.

Several of the datacentres for certain region s are shared and have servers for multiple regions, I. E. Some of the americas sever locations share location with some of the Asian server infrastructure.

Given that there was no issues with Asian servers for the most part, lends credence to the ddos attack claim being just a way to save face for or purposes.

    Oh sure.

Classic apologist as you try to say "BUT BATTLENET WAS FINE".

When we've had this happen before in the past where certain games are down yet others are fine. The servers aren't the same, you realize how much of a mess that would be to handle right? And you realize there wasn't an issue accessing the battle.net servers, it was specifically the Overwatch ones, right?

Or do you normally believe everyone is always lying to you?

Funny how you didn't rebut any of the points I actually made, but did resort to reductio ad absurdum..

But I can see you were actually just being deliberately obtuse.

No, I pointed out they're not the same servers.

YOU seem to still think they are though. Or do you forget all the times Battle.net had authentication issues yet you would still be able to bypass it by starting up WoW through the exe?

I'm showing you literal proof of multiple issues affecting one server but not another and you're just ignoring that and claiming you're not being rebutted.

You keeo using that same, you said their the same servers argument ooga booga monkey scrrch.

when that's literally not what I said, in the first post I made a comment about how it was funny nothing else battle.net related was experiencing issues.

I further cleared up, that overwatch servers do share some of their infrastructure and resources across "regions" as some of the data centres do have servers for multiple regions.

If it was a ddos aimed simply at the overwatch 2 servers it would have had a greater an impact across all regions, rather than simply the two busiest regions of na and eu. If you changed your region over to Asia there was basically no issue until, people started overloading that region aswell.

Blizzard often fail to own their mistakes and instead resort to excuses

How are you missing this though.

You said "it's funny nothing else on battle.net was having issues"...which is like saying "Wow I'm shocked FFXIV wasn't down, they must be lying!". And that's the weird part here lol.

It's different servers. That's it. You can keep saying "but they share-" but we've already even had other games have local server issues within the game (Like realms in FFXIV or WoW even crashing while the rest are working fine, or did you forget BfA launch and how Area 52 was down for like a whole day while everyone else was fine? Oh and remember Blizzard straight up owned that saying it was an issue that they were encountering with the server).

They've constantly owned their own faults with servers and connection issues. Do you forget Classic launch already where they repeatedly apologized saying they didn't expect that much of a flood of players?

You're acting as if servers communicating between each other means they MUST have a link that means they'd all be affected but that simply isn't true. The only time one server having issues would spill into others is if Battle.net itself is having log-in issues and that's because you need to access B.Net to get to the rest. And you have yet to actually disprove that because we have historical evidence to show the opposite of what you're claiming.
