Dragonflight Pre-Expansion Patch 10.0.0 Phase 1 Live This Week
The pre-expansion phase 1 patch is launching this week in both NA and EU! NA and EU servers are now live.

The Winds of Wisdom 50% EXP buff will remain until Phase 2 on November 15.

What is Releasing This Week?
Lots of changes are coming in the Dragonflight Pre-Expansion Patch Phase 1.

What Is Coming in Phase 2 on November 15?
  • New Race/Class: Dracthyr Evoker Available: Players will menace their foes (or empower their allies) as the new dracthyr Evoker, World of Warcraft’s first-ever race and class combination. Able to switch between a humanoid visage and a fearsome draconic form, the dracthyr are highly mobile, and their unique Evoker class can specialize in ranged damage-dealing or in aiding their allies as a healer by harnessing the mystical gifts of dragonkind.
  • New Zone: The Forbidden Reach: Play through the starting zone for WoW’s newest hero class, the Dracthyr Evoker
  • New Dungeon: Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr: Located in the Badlands within the Eastern Kingdoms, players will venture into Uldaman to lay claim to a legacy of knowledge left behind by the titans. This ancient titan facility is where, long ago, allies of the heroic Keeper Tyr hid the Discs of Norgannon.
  • In-Game Events: Primal Storms: Ward off attacks from the Primalists with new quests and world events, setting the stage for Dragonflight’s launch.
  • Leveling Experience Changes - Dragonflight will see a significant reduction in the amount of experience to level from 1-60, and 50 to 60 will be included in Chromie Time.

Official Dragonflight Prepatch Notes
Here are the Official Patch notes for Phase 1 of the Dragonflight 10.0.0 Prepatch.

Dragonflight Login Screen and Music
The prepatch will transition the Shadowlands login screen into the new Dragonflight login screen.

New Talent Tree System
All classes in the game will get access to the Dragonflight Talent Trees overhaul.

The new talent system empowers players to make creative and meaningful talent choices without compromising their effectiveness—and most importantly, it gives them meaningful options at every level. Gain talent points with each level-up and spend them in two distinct talent trees – Class talent trees featuring utility skills for your class, and Specialization talent trees that boost your offensive, defensive, or healing powers.

Take a look at some of the features the new talent system brings:

  • Change your talents anywhere, for free. Switching talents no longer requires being in a rested area or using tomes. However, you can’t change talents during combat, Mythic+ runs, and active PvP matches.
  • Starter Build – The Starter Build is a preset talent build available for players who prefer not to choose their own talents, but want a decent build that is suitable for most content.
  • Loadouts – Save and switch between multiple talent builds with ease.
    • Import Loadouts – Easily import talent builds from outside sources.
    • Export Loadouts – Copy a loadout code you can share with friends or online communities.
    • Saved Action Bars – By default, each loadout has its own saved set of action bars. However, you can set specific loadouts to share action bars by enabling the loadout option “Use shared action bars.”
  • Unlearned Talent History – Unlearning a talent high up in the tree may automatically unlearn lots of talents below it. To make it easier to reconstruct your build, these unlearned talents are clearly marked, and you can mass relearn them by using shift click.
  • Search Bar
    • Locate specific talents, keywords, and even related talents for spotting synergies. For example, searching for “Tidal Waves” will also highlight Riptide, Healing Wave, and Healing Surge since they are mentioned in Tidal Waves’ description.
    • The search bar also has a preset search to help you easily locate abilities missing from your action bars.

New Class and Race Combinations
Mage, Priest, and Rogue are now available to all races in the game.

User Interface and Menu Overhaul
The default UI has been modernized and is completely customizable.

New Achievements and Rewards
Several New achievements and rewards have been added to the game.

Miscellaneous Changes
There are quite a few more changes coming in the Patch.

  • Barbershop services are now free of cost.
  • Up to 5 players of any faction can tag an enemy to earn quest credit and drops (was faction specific). War Mode is unchanged.
  • Resurrection Sickness now lasts 1 minute (was 10 minutes). Characters that resurrect at a Spirit Healer below level 10 now suffer 10% durability loss, and characters that resurrect at a Spirit Healer at level 10 and above now suffer 50% durability loss (was all levels suffer 25% durability loss).
  • New Toy: Seed of Renewed Souls – Embrace the spirits of the weald, transforming into your Soulshape. 5 minute cooldown. Available from Lady Muunn in Heart of the Forest.
  • Eternity’s End class set bonuses are now legacy and disabled in combat.
    • Developers’ note: While it’s routine for us to mark older set bonuses as Legacy, we do not normally take this step so soon after they were acquired. Unfortunately, the extent of class changes coming in the pre-patch is an exceptional circumstance that has led to this decision. In the future, it is not our intention to repeat this timing when marking class sets as Legacy.
    • To account for the removal of set bonuses and addition of the new talent trees, game content will be re-tuned so that difficulty remains relatively the same.
  • Additional Gamepad support.

Does this mean we’ll have winds of wisdom AND the reduced 50-60 XP from beta or are those XP curve adjustments coming later on?

Super excited to play as a Draenei rogue, Akama was always one of my favorite Heroes since warcraft 3. Gonna try and replicate his outfit.

No, the XP changes don't come in until the 15th (phase 2), and the winds of wisdom buff is disabled at that point.

Have they still not added any Dragonflight music besides the login screen music (which itself seems almost placeholder)? It doesn't usually come this late, does it? Wonder what's been going on there.

Some people had lizard phobias. I know a person with a moth phobia. She was convinced Ardwnweild was way more evil than Revendreth.

This alone is the highlight for me for this pre-patch. I cannot even begin to tell you how much gold I have spent on all of my toons on the barbershop. At least 50% of my toons are Void Elf too for that xmog discount but going on any other non-VE, I forget that they don't have the discount and have easily spent 5k gold or more in one sitting.

Sorry to disappoint but the level xp reduction isn't until phase 2, the winds of wisdom buff goes away at the end of phase one.

    Yup

If people want to maximize you can do 1-40 or 50 now and 50-60 after the 15th.

    *enters barbershop*

"Hello may I help you today?"

"Hi I want to be a broken draenei please."

I’ve just levelled 3 from 50-60 and it literally took about half an hour per level. It’s literally no time at all atm. The even better thing now though is that we can do 1-60 anywhere and aren’t forced to do 50-60 in Shadowlands.

The Barber spent some time with the Forsaken, learned a few things. He's much more used to the torture chamber than his new position, and it will surely bring him great joy to return to his days as a butcher.

Uh, Blizzard, you might have made a tiny mistake here with these new class combos reveal. I don't see Nightelf Paladins mentioned anywhere.

speed leveler did 50-60 in like 2 hours with the buff pre-xp changes, 45 min post-xp changes, it's a massive nerf.
