Though it fell dormant with the rest of the Isles, it has reopened and is back under the guidance of Headteacher Doragosa. In a series of exciting, new changes the Academy is currently seeking new students from all walks of life, not just dragons, as well as volunteers to help get it back to the bustling halls of education it once was. Those who walk the Academy grounds are sure to learn something new.

Vexamus
As one of the most tenured professors in the academy, Maxdormu uses his powers as a bronze dragon to help bring his history lessons to life.

While this proves to be quite an educational and fun experience, it can occasionally go awry. Vexamus is one of Professor Maxdormu's favorite lessons, but if any historical detail is inaccurate he will be quick to scold any rowdy students.

  • Overview - Professor Maxdormu conjures a lesson that recalls the story of Vexamus, introducing the elemental's arsenal of Arcane abilities as the narrative progresses. The professor's magic book summons Arcane Orbs that gravitate towards Vexamus and grant it more power if not intercepted.
  • Professor Maxdormu -
    • Arcane Orbs - The Professor conjures enchanted orbs from the magic book that inflict 30 Arcane damage within 3 yards of impact and begin to gravitate towards Vexamus.
If an orb is absorbed by Vexamus, the elemental will gain 20 energy and inflict 12 Arcane damage to all players. If an orb is absorbed by a player, it will inflict 10 Arcane Damage to them.
      • Oversurge - Increases damage taken from absorbing Arcane Orbs by 200% for 20 sec.
  • Vexamus -
    • Arcane Fissure - Upon reaching 100 energy, Vexamus explodes with overwhelming power inflicting 13 Arcane damage to all players and pushing them back. Fissures erupt multiple times at player locations, each inflicting 50 Arcane damage within 4 yards.
    • Mana Bombs - Vexamus infuses up to 3 players with explosive mana, inflicting 5 Arcane damage every 1 sec for 4 sec. Upon expiration, the mana will detonate inflicting 10 Arcane damage within 4 yards and leaving a pool of Corrupted Mana for 60 sec.
      • Corrupted Mana - Corrupted Mana inflicts 18 Arcane damage every 1 sec to players inside and reduces their movement speed by 30%.
    • Arcane Expulsion - Vexamus ejects a mass of arcane energy inflicting 45 Arcane damage to players in front of it.

Overgrown Ancient
Professors Mystakria and Ichistrasz have used just a touch too much magic in an effort to clear the botany labs. Now they have a big, leafy problem on their hands in the form of an Overgrown Ancient that threatens to undo all their hard work.

  • Overview - The Overgrown Ancient attempts to crush the tank with Barkbreaker and repeatedly forces waves of dormant lashers to grow with Germinate.

Upon reaching 100 energy, the Overgrown Ancient uses Burst Forth to awaken all dormant lashers that have not yet been killed, causing them to attack players.
    • Tanks -
      • Being hit by Barkbreaker greatly increases Physical damage taken for a short time after.
      • Once awakened by Burst Forth, Hungry Lashers can inflict significant damage if left unchecked.
      • Ancient Branches cast Healing Touch, which can be interrupted.
    • Damage Dealers -
      • Hungry Lashers can be damaged and killed even before the Ancient awakens them with Burst Forth.
      • Ancient Branches cast Healing Touch, which can be interrupted.
    • Healers -
      • The target of Barkbreaker takes greatly increased Physical damage for a short time after being hit.
      • Burst Forth inflicts significant damage to all party members.
  • Germinate - The Overgrown Ancient forces dormant lasher seeds beneath all players' feet to sprout every 1 sec for 4 sec.
Each emerging seed inflicts 25 Physical damage to players within 4 yds and knocks them back, then leaves behind a dormant Hungry Lasher.
    • Hungry Lasher -
      • Lasher Toxin - The Hungry Lasher's attacks have a chance to poison the target, inflicting 1 Nature damage every 3 sec for 9 sec. This effect stacks.
  • Burst Forth - Upon reaching 100 energy, the Overgrown Ancient releases its abundant life magic to awaken all dormant Lashers, inflicting 20 Nature damage to all players as they burst free from the ground.
  • Branch Out - The Overgrown Ancient throws one of its own branches at a location, inflicting 50 Physical damage to players within 8 yds and knocking them back.
The Ancient Branch then animates and attacks players.
    • Splinterbark - Splinters erupt from the Ancient as its branch is torn away, causing all players to bleed for 10 every 3 sec for 60 sec. This effect stacks.
    • Ancient Branch -
      • Healing Touch - Heal an ally for 150.
      • Abundance - Upon death, release a spark of life energy that bursts after 3.5 sec, healing allies and players within 8 yds for 250, and removing all applications of Splinterbark.
  • Barkbreaker - The Overgrown Ancient stomps its target with crushing force, inflicting 48 Physical damage and increasing Physical damage taken by 100% for 9 sec.

Crawth
The Lish Llrath, or Talon Toss, arena is quite literally for the birds these days. Crawth has taken up residence in the center of the arena and has no immediate plans to move out soon. Let's see if we can get her to play ball... and leave.

  • Overview - Nesting on the sporting grounds of the old academy, Crawth loudly and violently objects to those that would reclaim the space. Unbeknownst to the massive bird, the goals of the ancient arena still contain some of their original power...
  • Play Ball! - The goals of The Pitch activate, allowing players to score points in either the Goal of the Searing Blaze or the Goal of the Rushing Winds.
    • Goal of the Searing Blaze - Scoring 3 points in the Goal of the Searing Blaze triggers a Firestorm.
      • Firestorm - The goal erupts in flames, launching several motes of fire at the arena.
Each mote inflicts 50 Fire damage and stuns players for 3 sec within 6 yards of where it lands.
The Firestorm also stuns Crawth and makes her take 75% increased damage for 12 sec.
    • Goal of the Rushing Winds - Scoring 3 points in the Goal of the Rushing Winds triggers Gale Force.
      • Gale Force - Fierce winds rush out of the goal, pushing players back and summoning Roving Cyclones for 15 sec.
Each mote can be picked up to grant 45% Haste and 50% movement speed for 20 sec. This effect also provides immunity to being pushed by Gale Force.
        • Roving Cyclone - Creates cyclones that move around, inflicting 33 Nature damage and knocking back any player it contacts.
  • Overpowering Gust - Crawth faces a random player and flaps her wings, inflicting 50 Nature damage and knocking back all players in front of her.
  • Deafening Screech - Crawth releases a loud screech, causing a sonic eruption at all player locations, inflicting 12 Nature damage to all players within 4 yards of each location.
This effect interrupts spell casts and also silences any player interrupted in this manner for 6 sec.
    • Sonic Vulnerability - Increases damage from Deafening Screech by 50%. This stacks.
This is removed by scoring 3 points in one of the goals.
  • Savage Peck - Crawth viciously pecks at her target, inflicting 75 Physical damage instantly with an additional 15 Physical damage every 1 sec for 10 sec.

Echo of Doragosa
Headteacher Doragosa thought of everything when it came to Algeth'ar Academy. Including a complex simulacrum of herself to take care of any day to day tasks and upkeep while the Isles lay dormant. Now that the Academy is open once again, perhaps she can use it to help keep track of all the new students. It's done a fine job in the interim, and is absolutely the one spell that did not degrade after all these years. Perfectly stable and helpful. Right?

  • Overview - The Echo of Doragosa assaults her enemies with powerful Arcane attacks, applying Overwhelming Power and creating Arcane Rifts.
  • Overwhelming Power - The Echo of Doragosa's arcane attacks leave wild energy on players they hit, increasing damage they inflict by 5%. This effect stacks and erupts into an Arcane Rift at 4 applications.
    • Arcane Rift - The excess power coalesces into a rift of arcane energy, inflicting 10 Arcane damage every 1 sec to players within. This rift occasionally releases Uncontrolled Energy.
      • Uncontrolled Energy - Wild Magic explodes on contact with a player, inflicting 17 Arcane damage to players within 4 yds.
Applies Overwhelming Power to all targets struck.
  • Astral Breath - The Echo of Doragosa breathes a cone of Spellfrost, inflicting 40 Spellfrost damage to all players caught in the breath.
Applies Overwhelming Power to all targets struck.
  • Power Vacuum - The Echo of Doragosa pulls all players to her location, then strikes with explosive energy inflicting 40 Arcane damage and knocking back all players within 20 yards.
Applies Overwhelming Power to anyone hit.
  • Arcane Missiles - The Echo of Doragosa inflicts 10 Arcane damage to an enemy.
Applies Overwhelming Power to the target.
  • Energy Bomb - The Echo of Doragosa marks a player arcane energy for 6 sec. When the Energy Bomb expires, it inflicts 18 Arcane damage to all players within 8 yards.
Applies Overwhelming Power to the target.
