You’ll be able to experience this new feature soon on the PTR.

Shop at the Trader’s Corner

A new set of traders will be moving their wares into the capital cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar—T&W (Tawny and Wilder) and Zen’shiri Trading Posts. You’ll find T&W just outside of the Mage District in Stormwind and the Zen’shiri Trading Post next to Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. Our trader friends have pulled out all the stops and have set up their shop so you can view the new items of the month prominently on display right at their shop. They’ll have transmogs on mannequins, pets at their feet, and mounts secured in their stable. Speak to the traders to see this month’s wares.

A Home for Creative Cosmetics

There are a multitude of interesting transmog, pet, and mount possibilities in Azeroth, limited only by imagination. The Trading Post will serve as a home for many more items from across Azeroth— and beyond—and is not limited by the current game content. You can expect to see a variety of fun new items to add to your collection.

Opening the possibilities allows for a wide variety of different goods to be brought to the Trading Post and players can expect the unexpected in each month’s new catalogue!

How It Works

To obtain these unique cosmetic items, you will need to acquire a new account-wide currency called “Trader’s Tender.” This can be earned in two ways:

  • Automatically each month: Just by logging in and heading to the Trading Post, you can collect 500 Trader’s Tender every month from a chest called the Collector’s Cache.
  • By completing monthly activities in the Traveler’s Log: A monthly set of activities provides the opportunity to earn up to 500 additional Trader’s Tender.

We’ll be iterating on this new feature as we test on the PTR. The final Trader’s Tender amounts are subject to change.

Get Tender Every Month

At the first of each month, players with an active account in good standing will receive a set amount of Trader’s Tender automatically. If you don’t have active game time on your account or aren’t a subscriber at the start of a new month, don’t worry. Your Tender will be awarded the first day of the month when you do have game time or an active subscription. This will be the same amount for everyone, regardless of how you pay for your game time.

The Traveler’s Log

The second way to earn Trader’s Tender is to complete monthly activities listed in the new Traveler’s Log. Each month features a rotating, themed set of activities. There’s only a set amount of Tender you can earn each month through completing activities, so you won’t need to complete all the ones in the log each month. You’ll be able to pick and choose from a variety of fun in-game activities to easily earn Tender. Players can choose to earn by continuing to play the game as they already do such as completing quests, competing in battlegrounds, taking part in holiday activities, and even running Mythic+ dungeons. But you can also choose to take part in activities uniquely designed for the month.

You’ll be able to view these activities and your progress in the Adventure Guide (Shift-J) in the new Traveler’s Log. A bar at the top of the User Interface (UI) will show your progress in earning Trader’s Tender each. At certain thresholds, Trader’s Tender will be deposited into your Collector’s Cache for pickup. Additional Trader’s Tender is also obtained by filling the bar, but that’s not all…

Monthly Rotation

On the first of the month, the traders will obtain new items and update the activities in the Traveler’s Log for the new month. Items that are rotated out of their inventory won’t be gone for good though—they’ll rotate back into the inventory in future months—giving players who missed them the first time another opportunity to add them to their collections. The Trading Post will also include cosmetics from promotions that are no longer available as well as items normally available for cash purchase on the in-game store as purchasable items with Trader’s Tender instead. This provides an alternative way for players to obtain these items.

Getting a Glimpse of the Future

This is just the start of what we hope will be a rewarding new system for players to further personalize their character and their experiences within World of Warcraft. We’ll be looking toward additional opportunities to provide the community with even more ways to add to their collections and express themselves everywhere they go in Azeroth.

Keep an eye on the upcoming PTR where you’ll get a chance to try the new feature for yourself. We look forward to hearing your feedback as we continue to develop this new feature.

    Unsub, and don't play?

Do you think all content is fomo because you miss out on potential lich king lockouts every week you don't play?
Like seriously with the logic of "if i don't play the game, i miss out on rewards, and that is fomo!" then EVERYTHING is fomo.

i understand fomo in the sense of things that take obscene amounts of time or skill and then never return
    but come the fuck on.

Be grateful you have your mental health and stable finances when you return to the game.

It remains to be seen how long these rotations (or second chances, as they described it) will take. It certainly reminds me of the "awsome" corruption vendor rotation back at the end of BfA that was also well received. Well, at least this time no player power is involved.
haha yeah, corruption vendor great example.
but i seem to remember the corruptions giving player power, meaning some people got their BIS corruptions week 1, while others had to wait weeks.
odd I didnt know mounts pets and transmogs gave player power... huh
    when did they add that?

Don't you find it ironic that you've told people they're miopic in how they look at the game, and then you go ahead and look for the posts that reinforce your own sentiment?

And then you find it odd that people brand you negatively...

Well, I would just assume if there is a rotating inventory and a method by which you can freeze items to stay in stock, you probably can either wait for it to come back or freeze it until you want to get it.

Jesus fucking Christ, this God damned community.

Blizzard announces a brand new system designed specifically to give players a reason to log into the fucking game and the first response is: "WELL IT'S NOT HOUSING SO THEY CAN SUCK MY DICK"

    I fucking hate it here.

I don't think you can really use people who clearly do not understand what the trading post is as people having a negative reaction.

    Misunderstanding doesn't make dislike valid.

Holy fuck i love how you describe not me, but your fucking self.
i got THE OFFICIAL POST and posted it.
and you say I!? CHERRY PICKED!?
meanwhile you go find a random secondary post to post as your proof.
come the fuck on dude you have to see the absolute ironic hypocrisy here.

That you claim i "Looked for the post that reinforced my own sentiment" when i linked the official announcement, and you are the one who went and found a random shitposting thread?

Bro really cherry picked his evidence of a random thread then claims I cherry picked my evidence by posting the official response.

Haha...this is why I asked them to delete my 30 000 post account two years ago, but the addiction is strong. I read through this feature and thought "Oh..neat" - to come here and it is a lot of shitting over it

I have to admire the tenacity of those people who hopefully quit WoW years and years ago over all the shit Blizzard does and still fight the valiant fight to warn the rest of us of this evil studio....and get us all to quit to save our soul.

...but wait...what if they all still play?

The more I look at this, the more I'm convinced this isn't a battle pass, but more of a customer loyalty system, basically rewarding people for being subbed.
If anything, the new renown system is still the closest thing we have to a battle pass.

This is pretty much it, of course though it does have a "battle pass" each month that is used to earn the customer loyalty points, but yes it is a customer loyalty point system.

It's just the constant movement of goal posts that is so, so fucking irritating. If it's not A, it's B. Then if they get what want, they now want C. Then if they get C they start complaining about how it took them too long to get A and B. But they never actually wanted A and B, therefore Blizzard is literally Satan because they didn't deliver C first.
