QA isn't a perfect process that will catch every issue every time, no matter how big a company is.

Hopefully some of the people upset about these maintenances can understand that.

No, it is unacceptable! It is getting worse due to full of bugs and now this Trading. What is going on?

It is a bit concerning just how long these downtimes have been for a pretty minor patch. A new storm event + balances/QA/transmog + a new vendor/currency is essentially all this patch is and yet we're getting downtime like it's 8.2 or something.

    Very odd.

Glad I finished my tasks and got my mount out of the chest before things went again. I needed 3 more mounts for 500, and with a timely Galleon drop too today I managed to get there.

Good luck to those unable to open up the trading post yet. It's not a huge setback, trust me, cause the tasks for a whole month can be done in like 2 hours I bet. Took me about 3,5 cause I was also doing regular Dragon Isles stuff like Invasions and Auction House etc.

That post was made on the EU forums. So does that mean the hotfix is going in now for NA since EU is getting the update and hotfix overnight?

Yeah... except that amount of bugs in DF is more like "we didn't test it" and not "it's slipped through QA"

Well it really depends on where you live. Law trumps anything in the ToS. So while in most states of the US, you are likely correct that you have no recourse, places like the EU, UK, Australia have much stricter laws on what and when compensation must be provided.

So uhm, why was it on PTR then? Why not release it straight away and fix it in the coming 8 weeks

mcdonalds isn't obligated to give you your extra napkins when you ask for it, but it's a smart business decision to do it anyway.

I wonder how many people crying about wanting compensation for it not being up today is the same people that were crying about it being added to the game in the first place.

Shit happens when moving content from environment to environment that can't be accounted for in the most thorough of test plans.

If you've never worked a day of QA in your life that's fine but don't try to act like you know absolutely anything about the job.

Because the PTR isn't live and no matter how close the two builds are there are always going to be differences in which something that could be bug free in a PTR could cause all kinds of unknown bugs in live.

This isn't a wow thing, this is all online software thing where there's a test area and a live area.
