Neltharax, Enemy of the Sky Bow Changes

Neltharax, Enemy of the Sky is going to be changed in patch 10.0.7. The bow has a bonus effect on it that was intended to be a boost to the Hunter’s auto-shot damage when shooting a single target, and we still want to keep it that way. The special effect from the bow was not intended to also increase the melee auto-attack speed of any summoned pets. The power gain from this special Equip effect, in addition to its rarity, has made a pretty big divide between Hunters who have this bow, and Hunters who don’t. We’re changing the bow to have an equip effect that increases your auto-attack damage, rather than auto-attack speed. This auto-attack damage bonus will only affect you, the Hunter, and your own auto-shot damage – nothing from your pets will be increased from having this special bow. We recognize that the power gain of this bow was very large, and are tuning up some Hunter abilities to compensate for the changes made to the bow.

Here is the new equip effect of the bow:

Tuning changes planned for patch 10.0.7, and will likely be in your next PTR build.

All Specs:
  • Serpent Sting damage increased by 25%
  • Death Chakram damage increased by 100%

Beast Mastery Hunter:
  • Kill Command damage + 25%
  • Barbed Shot damage + 25%
  • Stomp damage + 25%
  • Cobra Shot damage + 50%

Marksmanship Hunter:
  • Arcane Shot and Chimaera Shot damage + 25%
  • Multi-Shot damage + 15%

As a reminder, numbers are still subject to change. Thank you all.

P.S. I hope you are still having nice weekends.

Does this work for all hunter levels or just max?

Because that’s some nice dmg buffs for any non-max hunters.

This is so simple, =WHY= blizzard can not see that? To balance the game around having some op class weapon there are 2 ways and they both are =BAD=.
    1) Balance the class as if this weapon does not exist. This will make those lucky enough to get it be OP and do way more damage than all the other classes making all the classes frustrated and call for nerfs.
    2) Balance the class around having said weapon. This will make those that DID NOT get the weapon look bad and be underpowered, thus leading them to frustration.

And also having one op weapon limits weapon choices to one. You either have the weapon or you don't. A dumb luck should not decide whether you're competitive or not.

And one last thing, not all the competitive content is about raiding. By doing M+ you have no chance at raid loot, and M+ is another competitive game facet.

PS: While we're at it, remove the stupid evoker staff and re-balance devastation ST dps around not having it. Maybe to a less extent but all the above applies here as well. And =NEVER= add those weapons again, ever. Gosh.
I disagree, special op weapons and armors should be locked behind the hard mode bosses.
Note, I don't do hardcore raiding, I don't even play WoW. It's common sense that if you want top gear, you got to beat the top bosses.

Huh, i didn't even know my BM hunter needed a buff.
Honestly this sort of buff seems extreme to the retarded extent, i hope they remember to make it pve only or this is going to be an interesting time.

Also honestly they should stop balancing around gimmicky items at all.
You want to add a rare OP superweapon? Go ahead.
But don't penalise those who don't have it.

it would also explain why BM was so garbage since release - those morons couldnt read the data properly and assumed the values that best hunters with that bow had were the same as of all BM hunters :/
Yeah I don’t know what hunters you play with, but we are not subpar, especially with that bow in ST BM

do you have that bow ? if you do then ofc you "dont know why they buffing it that much "

without this bow BM dps is subpar .

I have a 415 bow and the Neltharax with lfr ilvl (395 ?) would give me +2.5k DPS and the normal Neltharax (405) would give me +4.5k dps - that raidbos sims. I'm tired of running lfr/normal to get that damn bow - no item should make a such big difference - next they should take a look at some trinkets.

How are massive buffs penalizing those who don't have the bow?

this is a huge buff for the majority who never probably never got the bow, why are people up in arms about it?

Blizz should bring back the tokens where you can buy raid gear. And the tokens to upgrade them.

This is a good change, they had to nerf this bow since a 418Nelth was outsimming a crafted and embellished 444 Season2 crafted bow which is stupid.
Nelth is still the best bow in the game for its ilvl, that being said chumps like me who only ever got the 405 can just use a 418crafted and do just fine.

Not sure... it might be because hunters were/are kind of in a bad spot as a overly fragile class that was only average in dmg.

The bow prompted up the class but it should of been fixed earlier and it still doesn't address the dmg issue in pve ( buff hunter survivability in pvp would be a massive mistake hey need to be seperated).

Devs designed a special weapon from the end boss of this raid tier, for 1 specific class. And they didn't even know how it would work with this class. It shows 0 clue or game knowledge.

I am surprised that they didn't design a bow dropped from boss that can only be looted by warrior, with their awsome competence, since devs probably believe warrior mainly dps with bows.

Keep up the good work, Blizzard, gg.

Bm dps is far from subpar, if you have a #1 rank anywhere (terros and it’s not close) then you have a niche that many other specs don’t.

Sounds like some of these BM hunters could be US politicians, with all this intellectual dishonesty on display.

I think Blizz is trying to buff the ever living fuck out of BM to cater to all the dads that drag their wives into raid.

as i said, it must be a "team leader" who happenes playing Hunter in Dev team.
good luck everyone, i will left 10.07 to Blizzard themselvses to play till Microsoft take off.
Hope Rogue talent designer will FIND A NEW JOB, CAUSE U WILL BE FIRE, I AM SURE!!!

What a fucking smooth brain take this is. Go on Warcraftlogs, pull up Terror parses, click the search icon on the right side, scroll to the bottom and switch the dropdown from "Required" to "Exclude" and type in Neltharax to exclude Neltharax parses and then tell me where the first BM hunter you see is. Hint, it's pretty fricken far down the list to find the guy with the 418 Bow of the Dragon Hunters.

Even with these buffs, the dude who got that parse isn't going to be the #1 parse either, he's going to fall into the top 20ish.

Seems we have people looking at Hunter parses with the bow and thinking they get this dmg buff on top of those parses because their minds cannot think about two things at one time.

Moreso that it's laughable that it even made it into the game like this. What the hell are alpha/beta/PTR for if things are going to still be broken/OP in the final release?
