I was surprised they even bothered to tell us. Long ago since I thought they had given up on it and just wouldnt tell us. A true shitshow or nice marketing move to brand OW1 into whatever the fuck OW2 is.

What big announcement would they have aside from a WoW expansion? Another Hearthstone expansion? I guess a Diablo 4 DLC/"expansion"?

Feels like this might mean they have a new game they want to show off? Because if not, I don't see why this year needs a Blizzcon after so many years without one.

    Probably this: https://earlygame.com/gaming/blizzar...ly-almost-here

That's mostly what Blizzcon is good for, these days. Watching it to see how Blizzard will embarrass themselves at their own event.

Isn't this the traditional "lame duck" Blizzcon timing, given that a WoW expansion released last year and D4 is releasing this year? What are they going to feature?

That new survival game that's going to be years late to the party?

WoW expansion released year before Blizzcon, WoW expansion coming every 2 years, connect dots.

Prepare for the next blizzard mobile games.
Guess that is what still gives them a profit the rest warcraft, starcraft and diablo is going downhill in quality and lost the wow factor and are now just meh franchises.

PR and damage control mostly. Just judging from all their recent announcement videos I expect the whole affair to be super corporate, sterile and forced.

In terms of announcements, I think you'll get the standard stuff. WoW expansion, Hearthstone expansion, OW new character, DIV updates with maybe a new class, and probably more on their survival game. They supposedly have one more unannounced title they've been working on, so I guess there's a small chance that gets unveiled, but at the rate they abandon projects I wouldn't count on it.

I'll stick with the Blizzcon Online again.

I've been a few times, it was fun but meh, going out really isn't my thing anymore

Ugh, why would anyone still be interested in this.
Just about everybody who can talk with passion about these games is gone and all that remains are soulless husks who care more about their gender politics than making a good game.
We'll probably end up with like 5 panels about "Equity in the workplace", "Diversity hiring", "Inclusion in a multicultured workforce" and other stuff, with the panels just talking about how holier-than-thou they are & high fiving each other.

The OW2 fanbase got straight up scammed and lied too. But hey there is an upcoming Blizzcon! Surely they will anounce OW3 that will deliver the much anticipated PvE content... right?

Now that the EU approved of the merger with Microsoft n Blizz, will Microsoft allow Blizzcon?

Are they for or against big conventions that cost lots of monies??
